1:48 scale DH Mosquito T.III RR299
Discussion
I used Eduard masks on my 1:72 Tamiya Mosquito, and Vallejo acrylics over Klear with no issues. It also had a light overcoat of satin varnish. I did remove the masks fairly quickly after painting to reduce the risk of tearing. The nice thing about acrylics and canopies is that overspray or bleeding is usually very easy to remove completely with a cocktail stick.
Personally I wouldn't go back to enamels, but you do have to be far more careful about reducing surface contamination. Almost every model I paint requires a degree of re-touching after removing masking, which can be a bit traumatic especially repairing preshaded colours.

Canopy removed, cleaned up, polished a tad and the internal frames were painted on.
Then the canopy was masked up, painted matt enamel black, then enamel MSG and DG, which weren't the same hue as the original acrylics. I recently boxed up and posted almost all of my acrylics to a guy on Britmodeller but kept the left overs from the paints I'd used on the Mossie. I went over the frames with the acrylics then and made sure I ran around them all with a scalpel prior to peeling the masks off.
I've got a few stencils to add, and I'm painting on the little crests either side of the fuselage at the moment.
