F3D-3 Skyknight

So you are the US Navy.
Your F6D Fleet Defense Interceptor has just been cancelled, but you urgently need something to protect your fleet from air attack.
You have the Eagle missiles and fire control from the cancelled program, and you have a number of F3D Skyknight airframes.......
OK, the Skyknight can only carry two of the big missiles, but two is better than none....

Interesting idea, but it needs a catapult for launch. Now, will an Eagle missile fit under a Fairey Swordfish? Could be just what the UK Navy need to supplement the brace of F35Bs we can afford.
