Typically over detailed front end (and, as a previous contributor noted, the guppy grills are not attractive). The rampant lion looks really forced into the bonnet edge (Renault fallen into the same trap on the Twingo) and then the hard line of the bonnet panel gap clashes with all the other curves. I'd push the lion down, dividing the grill and lap the bonnet as a single piece all the way to the front. Crash regs aside, there'd be some duplication of the front bumper/impact area under the bonnet that would push up the costs.

Are those fog lamps inset as disk brake ducts? Don't think it works, but it's better than Renault's solution on the Mégane sport where the fog laps bulge out.

The A-pillar has a clean line and the evocative double hump in the roof line gets a thumbs up. Door handles need some work on them as they don't meet the "hewn from a single piece of metal" ethos (and this handle-over-scoop design always get the door badly scratched from rings).

Wing mirrors are really bad (anyone noticed the last minute indicator repeaters on the stems). They are over-sized (although probably production sized) and mounting them on the door skin brings mounting problems.

Like the way the window cuts into the door top, it adds strength to the rear quarter where those integrated wheel arches strut their stuff. The dominant side skirt is a Marmite feature, personally I like it.

Alloys have 5 point fixing - no way that'll go into production. I'll not comment on the design as there'll undoubtedly be a whole selection of alternatives from Peugeot & after market.

Filler cap right over the rear wheel makes one wonder where the suspension mounting points / hose would be packaged. Could it be hidden behind one of the quarterlights? It would clean up the line along the rear quarter.

2+2 is where it really falls down for me. Drop that and sell it as a pure 2 seater with a big boot (enough for 2 mountain bikes - 2 seats, 2 bikes). No rear seats, belt mounting points, dodgy tilting front seats would pare down the weight.

Summary, there are some weak points, primarily the fussy corporate grill and mirrors on a very strong design. I'd prefer it to a CC as it could be lighter and more rigid so handle better. And that's what PHers want.

Does that make his opinion unvalid then? Always makes me laugh on here when people desperately look at a persons profile to try and discredit them, usually because they own the car being slated and chuck their toys out of the pram. I can't stand TT's either but thats just my humble opinion too, like anyone else.

Definitely a CC - no-one would design a car that was that shape at the back otherwise. It looks awful.

7.0 seconds to 60 from 200bhp does seem a bit pathetic really. That's the same as a Golf GTi which is 150kg heavier.

nope its not, www.carmagazine.co.uk have more detail, this a 2+2 coupe pure and simple... CC will follow, but won't look like this.

where did this 1200kg come from? i find that highly unlikely seeing as the 207cc weighs in at over 1400kg...

edit.

okay so its not the convertible coupe, and its just a concept. i still wouldnt expect it to be that light.

guess the weight is quoted for the concept car as a fixed head coupe but thats designed as a taster for the upcoming 308 CC (hence the long rear deck?) which will definitely weigh considerably more than 1200kg...

What about the guppy face? I think that's the worst bit. The mirrors mean you get more a of a view behind you - the guppy face means less people will look at you.

I doubt anyone will fit into the back, not unless they dont have a head, or legs and are the size of an infant.

Hehe, but since when did the view behind matter THAT much next to having nicer wing mirrors?

Peugeot wing mirrors used to be small and nice looking, I bet them new ones are Sooooo draggy!

Full respect if it really will weigh 1200kg. Being French it will loose all its value straight away so buy a 2 year old one then get it chipped and i dont think it would be all that of a bad proposition.

Thankyou. It's amazing how people can look down on someone who owns a car merely because it's all they can afford. Bearing in mind I'm only 18 and only recently left college. Just because I own a Vauxhall Corsa, which in my opinion is a very reliable and handy first car which gets me from A to B, doesn't mean to say I don't have the right to have a taste in cars. Yes I drive a Corsa, but like any other 18 year old motor enthusiast I would rather drive Ferrari 575 etc. Also, if it makes a difference, my personal alternative to the Audi TT would be the Nissan 350Z. Which, "in my opinion" is a much better looking car. Enough said.

The Pug CCs are quite possibly the worst looking cars in existance - I just don't know how people can like the look of them.

This has nothing to do with what one can afford. All I'm saying is I'm some-one who completely disagrees with your statement; having owned (owned being the keyword here) a TT, I'd say that, exactly as you've experienced with your Corsa, I found it to be a very reliable and handy first car which also took me from A to B!!! Arguably I could also say that you shouldn't knock it unless you've tried it, I mean what exactly makes them 'orrible? Their styling? Fair enough, not everyone likes the looks. But as an ownership propostion I've not enjoyed any car quite as much (yet) - so I guess that's just my humble (and oh-so-invalid) opinion... rolleyes
