Seven hundred quid's worth of French hot hatch awesomeness. Even more so now I've got the radio working.

It's got a bit of a water leak somewhere in the ceiling, the screen washer doesn't work, the air con is borked, the rear wiper is loose and the cambelt needs doing... But I love it anyway. It's so much FUN!
Stunning great car

A bit of a thread resurrection, here’s mine:
Very nice. I would love one of these but a bit out of my price range.

Here's my pervious frenchy.

And this is the current one.

Thanks. The engine was from a 406 using a xantia inlet manifold.

Ok then

I don't recognise the injection pump

Do know that they run well on used fish and chips oil if running on a Bosch pump, not tried it though

Enjoy

I used to have a 205 1.9 GTI back in the 90’s and loved it driving

I think the pump in the photo is a very early bosch 306 pump. It went kaput a few months ago, so it's now running a bosch pump from a Peugeot 806.

I used to run my berlingo van of used veg oil I got free from a local restaurant. It used to smell like a donut shop. Other than having to change the diesel filter more often, it ran fine like that for 3 years.

I don't use the 205 enough to warrant veg oil and besides it's already does about 50-60mpg.

I’ve had this for10yrs, never been on track but have done 7 or 8 journeys to the French and Italian Alps in it, it’s not BAD at getting there and back and it comes alive when you are there!

Really starting to like the Meg 2 RS now. Yours looks great.

Walked past an R26 R the other day, dont see many of them around!
Thanks!

They are now starting to look even more unusual, a vertical rear window is quite an unusual thing unless you are in a van, but I guess a few years earlier Renault were brave enough to make the Avantime, so this looked quite normal for them!

I also saw one parked up for the first time in about 7 years, it was in the most unlikely place, it was in Belgravia.

Check this mate's glorious Renault Juva:

French post-war workhorse basically the R4 daddy.

Interior is pretty spartan...

Glorious details.

My Alpine the day I collected it from the dealer and put it into storage. Hopefully have it back for driving before the end of the year.
