I’m going to hang on for a factory order, I almost bought an ex demo until the dealer said they would not accept payment via a 3rd party PCP (Halifax), forcing you to use their finance.
Not even sure that's legal. Anti competitive practice?

Luke.

Blimey how have you managed that?! Trackdays? 12k here, still got a fair bit of life in them.
No, just normal driving around. Worn on the inside shoulder.

That was my thought Nick, it was Evans Halshaw and I couldn’t be bothered arguing the toss with them in the end.

Probably FCA compliance. You have to have a signed agreement to be able to supply cars to certain finance companies. If you can get the finance company to pay you instead you can pay for the car but most will want to pay the dealership directly and it does get a bit of a pain. It’s their prerogative, at the moment used cars are selling well so not too much hassle for them.

I decided to include maintenance with tyres on my lease as average was 5k miles. Are you running 18" or 19"?

Wish I had got maintenance on mine, had all 4 tyres replaced on my Trophy at 3400 miles which is pretty painful but I think shows how much I enjoy driving it. Living in Milton Keynes certainly doesn't help, for comparison I managed around 8k on the rears in my old M2.

Put Goodyear supersports on and they are sooo much better than the Bridgestone's S001.

I didn't like the Bridgestones much, replaced them with PS4S and it felt much better.

They do this because they can jack the APR % up and get a massive kickback from it so more money for the dealer.

Apart from a few main dealers not sure the rest find it very lucrative selling a few new Renaults here & there. Main dealers sell a couple of 100 million worth of stock per year so to them I think its very lucrative the rest way less so which means they will not sell their used RS on Renault finance deals!

Renault London West sold over £500M worth of cars last year making them the go to place to buy a new RS as they get the best finance deal from Renault Finance directly! 5.9% is the current APR its going up again soon if you look at other Renault dealers their APR varies between 6.9-9.9% APR which is a massive difference on a £40-45K PCP!

Source? I was going say EV usually from a plug but my energy supplier has gone pop (Avro) so better stock up on candles and solar panels...

It’s all rumour at the minute, Renaults communication is an absolute shambles (I know most manufactures are like this).

I reached out to Matt Bird the deputy editor on here and asked him if he could find out anything from Renault U.K. and according to Renault U.K. production will restart and order books will reopen.

Let’s see.

Got a reply from the UK RS brand manager the facts are as per below:

1: In the UK no new RS4 orders are being taken right now as production is suspended but expected to restart in the coming weeks-months.
2: When production restarts the existing orders will be produced.
3: Its not cancelled at all just on hold until the chips supply improves.

So if like me you have a factory order then it will be honoured just no set date right now could be weeks could be months.

The cancellation rumour seems to stem from UK dealers being told no more new orders are being accepted right now until the production line starts up again! Perhaps they did not hear or understand the right now aspect!

Good news anyway for anyone still waiting for theirs to be built!!

RS Product manager told my dealer my car is now in the production stages in the factory so in about 10 weeks she is mine to drive & own!

Get those factory orders in now everyone this is the last production run before 112mph Renault policy comes into place 2022!

Bose isn’t an option due to the micro chip shortage. How bad is the standard stereo?
IME standard stereos are very good but people just don't bother setting them up properly. Mrs 111R always spends a few mins setting mine up and the difference in quality is often quite significant. I've never regretted not buying one with an upgraded system

At last some news.

Hopefully the two Renault dealers I visited in August and September will finally come back to me with this news!!

Don't mind a wait, can enjoy my RS200 until then.

You need to be proactive though go back to them or find a main dealer who is aware they can place orders again.....Renault London West (where I placed my order) sell half all the new RS4 in the UK apparently they are on the ball go to them they will place the order today! Ask for James or Omar in sales they will sort this out fast & get your order in.
