New trophy owner here, I’ve just bought a liquid yellow EDC. Does anybody on here know of the car, RS69MEG? It’s not a vanity plate according to vcheck.

Anyway looking forward to picking it up on Wednesday all being well.

Thanks for the heads up, I’ve signed up. What happened to the old renaultsport forum? Used to frequent it when I had a Clio 200.

It got infested by RS hating trolls so they shut it down.

That’s a shame, always seemed to be a good forum with plenty of knowledge and piss taking

All car forums are slowly dying off. The most active places are all on Facebook now. There’s a quite a few private Renaultsport groups you can join. Megane sport.net and RS Megane Collective being the main ones. Mainly UK people too.

It’s a shame as stuff just gets lost on Facebook unless you save the post. I’ve registered with those suggested so thank you for the heads up.

RUK do seem to think that ordering will reopen. I’m not so sure but time will tell.

RUK told me that the 280 wouldn't be dropped, when I enquired a while back, after I'd read somewhere it was going to be dropped, came back to me with some corporate speak about how the Renaultsport brand is important to them etc.......... it was dropped a few weeks later!

I can't see ordering reopening, sure existing orders will likely be fulfilled but new orders, nope!

Existing factory orders will be honoured I think like mine is currently going through the factory in Palencia for early 2022 delivery to me! Renault officially announced the RS300 is being discontinued in 2023 to make way for an all electric replacement.
https://drivetribe.com/p/the-renault-megane-rs-wil...

I think they plan to re-open the factory order books for new orders but the chip crisis makes it hard for them to know exactly when as no-one knows availability & Renault announcing few days ago they are building way less cars which is not unique to just Renault brands its a tough time to get any new cars made they are all struggling & competing against each other for parts from suppliers! Renault order book was at a 15month high in Sept 2021 so demand is there but supply chain issues are letting so many companies down right now!

Can we have a moment to pay respect to the headlights please? You can almost sense the wry, knowing smile the Renault engineers had on their face as you flick main berm on. It’s as if they spec’d them knowing full well it’s the kind of car suited to late night, empty road, high speed blasts.

Rest of the car isn’t too bad either

Picked up my RS 300 (LY) a couple months ago and have been plagued by a pretty consistant clicking noise when turning. Has been back to renault 3 times now to try and get them to fix the issue.
City Motors Bristol thought it was the driveshafts so replaced them both.
SJ cook and Sons (also bristol) thought it was the driveshafts so took them out and put them back in again, now they're guessing that its just the discs making micromovements as the wheel turns.

Anyone else had a similar noise? Clicking is in time with the turning of the wheels and there is no play in any of the joints.

They are mighty impressive. I find I have more confidence on a good A/B road at night than I do in the day with the high beam lighting up the dark side of the moon. Proper tarmac rally night stage stuff.

Took the Orange one up into South Wales then on to Elan Valley a few weeks ago. It really was in its element and I struggle to think what else I would of chosen to take at anywhere near its price point.
Comfortable on the way there and back. Great fun on the mountain roads, without the need to go mental, and just the right size to navigate the narrower sections.
Will definitely do it again in the spring of 2022.

Good point. They're the brightest I have even seen in a car. Which makes a significant difference in terms of enjoying the car at night, not to mention safety...

Full beam is good but main beam is shocking. I thought I had a fault the first time I drove it at night!

The xenon setups on my last two cars were far superior on main beam.
