I'm interested to thoughts on this tyre wear. Measured at the Y1 service with 4600 miles on the clock.

With lockdown and spell of overseas my usage this year has been limited to say the least. I've enjoyed the performance and handling of the car but overall tend to drive sensibly.

For reference I tend to get at least 15k from a set of tyres but accept that 280ps going through the front wheels can take it's toll.
Mine are more worn than that after 4000 miles and that's just driving around town. They're notorious for wearing on the inside shoulder of the tyre.

It's normally the roundabout tyre that wears first for me (near side front).

I wouldn't be too surprised by that wear if it's been driven fairly hard. What tyres are on it?

I think I get 6-8k from the fronts on my Mk3 Megane.

4control steering system puts more wear on the tyres, You have to constantly remind yourself the insane cornering performance comes with some trade offs. I would not be too worried about those values. Some tyres are also way better than others...in general I would always advise check all 4 tyre pressures when the car is cold before heading out as having them at the correct pressure makes a massive difference to handling!

Weekend to do list: Check inside edge of tyre.

Regarding a previous mentioned issue with the fuel gauge no going down evenly on E10. Now running E5 and it works perfectly. Anyone else have this happen?

How would E10 stop the gauge going down normally?

No idea, but sticks to full for over 100 miles. And at the other end it went from 100 to '30' (before just telling me to refill like usual when below 50). Next tank had similar problems but was more controlled towards the end as I was more careful with trips.

Must be a coincidence surely.

You were very lucky to get in there! I hope you chose a good colour and spec!
5 month wait from factory order to delivery 2 days earlier than planned so it all worked out ok for me!! Sure did get the exact spec I wanted! Liquid Yellow & Interlagos Alloys (they stopped selling the black alloys they are OOP). Renault still had parts to make several more but no orders came in sadly so order book is closed forever now! Several owners in Spain got theirs last month on the spanish RS forums from the same production line run. They posted some pics as they received theirs off the trailer (no import process there obviously!).

There were 2 other UK MY2022 Trophy Yellow & Orange start of this week at the import centre...both sold within minutes! There is still a black Trophy around as well due in a few weeks on Autotrader for £41Kish. But production has stopped forever now!
The black one is indeed the last one left, looks like it has arrived at the dealer now. Standard 300 EDC in Diamond black.
There is another 2 more brand new ones turned up on autotrader UK today! Be quick though they are the last 2 brand new ever for UK!! The other 4 from the production run are spoken for.

Renault Leeds have an Orange 300 with EDC and 19's. Silver calipers so I assume non-cup chassis.

£47K! Good luck with that but someone will buy no doubt as last 2 are literally last ever chance to own a new RS its internally cancelled. Parts are available to make more but it has to be rebadged as an Alpine as they are exempt from the new 2022 onwards 112mph Renault speed limit.

My 2018 280 is still having random alarm issues.
I gave it a good clean and that somehow fixed my keyless entry problem but the alarm is still going at random when the car is locked

Yesterday I woke up at 0630 to the alarm blaring. Locking unlocking didn't work. Had to drive it away so I didn't wake up the whole street, after about 10 mins finally stopped.

Any ideas?

Renault garage here deeply unhelpful. Called me back and said if they can't find a fault it'll be £120 diagnotic fee...

I had all 4 replaced at about 5000
I've had other cars on lease not needing tyres for the whole 3 years. Definitely the car and not the driver.. kwikfit had a battle with ALD as they were also questioning it

Probably the battery is on its way out. Buy a brand new premium brand platinum battery & use the car at least twice a week for a while plus disable stop start that's notorious for draining them faster.

Battery can work but be in a poor condition this is most likely the issue. Another thing to try is reset the ECU by removing the negative battery lead waiting 30 mins reconnecting then the car has to relearn it systems (factory reset effectively).

Stop start will not operate if the battery is too low.

Correct as not enough juice to power it .....but using it at all degrades the battery over time due to how much strain it puts on the electrical system!

How much time?

My 275 is 6yrs old and covered 40k on its original battery.

I know the light weight battery in the 300 Trophy is notoriously weak. Not convinced Stop/Start is the issue.

280 puts way more strain on the electrical systems than a 275 you cannot compare the 2 at all!

I think the battery in a 280 should be replaced every 3 years minimum unless its kept on a trickle charger when not in use as the Sport-Trophy 280-300 are really tough on batteries.

Morning folks, thought I’d ask here as may be better than anywhere.

A friend of mine has a ‘19 300 Trophy, and over the last 24 hours has had an intermittent starting issue.
This morning whilst driving it, she had a slight loss of power so pulled over and it cut out.

Could this be the battery issue that curses these? Or anyone one have any other ideas or experiences?

Cheers

My 280 having fronts done at 9.5k (ALD) no quibble, not really a surprise given the above. They have approved Michelins for the front rather than continental6- I've never mismatched tyres on any of my cars before but if they're happy as they're paying for maintenance; will see what impact that has on the handling. Service is due after new fronts will see what they say re rears wear levels.

Lightweight battery most likely but also could be many other things if it just died... As the ION battery is so expensive you cannot just put another one in (stock shortages as well hard to find anywhere although you
can buy an alternative which appears to be the same product 10 times cheaper!). Best case scenario is it's the battery given up (I presume the car has not had the firmware update which introduces a computer power save mode equivalent to reduce draw?). Cheapest thing to do is get a decent jump start pack first see if you can start the car keep it running for a while to charge the battery a little. Drive to an RS master technician main dealer! If it's not holding the charge enough to keep the engine running then its new battery time but they are really expensive. Best thing is to get to a decent RS Master Technician they will be able to find the fault & advise!
