Hello there!!

First post and its about something that has bugged me for a while.

I have a '97 Peugeot 106 1.6 Auto. I have had it for a while now and never changed the PAS fluid, it has seemed fine but now it starting to bug me as i think it should be done.

I have Haynes manual and....it isnt listed in there!! Its the electric type which is located by the head lamp on the passanger side of the car.

It does seem like it is a sealed unit as there is no obvious refil point. I wondered if it was located somewhere else in the car?!?!

I am guessing as it is the same car as the Saxo VSX someone else might have it?? This unit is probably used in many Pugs, 306 etc.

If anyone knows please give me some advice!! Having had it in the Peugeot dealer once or twice i am convinced they would take my money and say they changed it even if they havent.

Thanks
Geoff

PS. I have done the oil, brakes and trans. already so this is the last one i need to do!!

Hi thanks for the advice.

I went all over the engine today checking there wasnt any release valves etc. and couldent find any.

The PAS unit us branded HPI i cant seem to find anything about that on google.

There are three lines oif fluid running off from the PAS unit. One to the top resvior, one that is the return path and final line made of strong metal that takes the fluid out of the pressure side of the pump.

They are all located on the top of unit and i the metal pipeline looks pretty tough to get out.

Any advice on getting it all out?? It seems like the other 2 pipes are just flexible plastic/rubber but connected with one-time clips, i cant seem to find clips to replace them though.

Does this help any??

Thanks
Geoff
