So, the new RR&B forum is gathering momentum nicely, thanks Ted and poorcardealer for suggesting it.

So how about a list of who's running what then? so we all know.

Balmoral Green, Turbo R.
poorcardealer, Brooklands.
flashgitindenial, Continental GT.
jhoneyball, Turbo RT.

Honourable mention, Deristrictor, used to run a Turbo RT.

Hi Balmoral Green.

I am running a '98 Brooklands R Mulliner in Sherwood (having previously had a Conti R Mulliner and before that a different Brooklands R Mulliner).

Always regretted selling the original 4 door so this year found another one (from P & A Wood)- one owner and about 18,000 miles.

Great cars!!

i've visited P&AWood and chatted with Paul there. Very impressive -- should I take my RT there for servicing? I live halfway between P&A and Bentley Essex

I've had no experience of Bentley Essex and until buying the most recent car had only used Broughtons (Surrey).

However, Paul at P & A Wood is great, they did quite a lot of work to my car (because I wanted it to be 100%!!) and they did exactly what they said they would and it was all done to the highest standard.

So, would I recommend them to you, yes most definitely is the answer! Their on site facilities are amazing - much more comprehensive than any other Bentley/RR main dealer that I have ever seen - I guess that's why they are classed as a 'Heritage' dealer.

Whats the hourly rate at P&A, or are they coy about that?

I'm not sure - would have to check invoice at home and post later on.

only reason i ask is that i am well used to well known aston martin servicing, many of whom can be quite opaque as to what they charge for labour and parts...

Interesting you say that, because having looked at the invoice whilst I can see the labour charge, I can't tell how many hours; so sorry but none the wiser.

All I can suggest is that you 'phone Paul Wood and ask him.

to be honest, im not surprised. I do think some high-end (and highly distinguished) dealerships do themselves no favours by being coy about what they charge for various tasks.

If it helps, I think, from memory, that Chelsea Workshop in London charges £70 per hour. They have also been very good - Larry Hawkins is the contact person there.

Well I basically have to decide whether to keep with bentley franchised dealer or go to a specialist. Unforch its hard to know who is good and who isnt -- the wizard who looks after my aston isnt franchised but is v well known in the field.

I must send off my BDC membership and get along to a few local (essex/suffolk) meetings to get the gossip over a pint or two!

Simon & Stuart, top blokes, well known in the club with their Turbo R racer. Belper to Crondall is hardly local for me, but I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I love the Camargue, very much of its time, and criminally undervalued. Kind of very retro cool nowadays. Reminds me of a huge Monteverdi.
