New Pagid disks arrived, £68 the pair delivered, bargain, also correct size which helps!

So the mini is out of its favourite spot in the garage again, as long as no more issues pop up new wheels are on the agenda next....or maybe that stage 2 remap...or both.

Looking good.

Just looking at the updates on the exhaust. Wha did you buy in the end? Seen a eBay cheapy for about £320, or a secondhand custom for for £325 but it's nearly 3hrs away.

Ebay one for £275ish, decent for the money, however the supplied clamps were crap, had to get new ones. Tempted to get it welded up, certainly the back boxes to the y pipe.

Thanks. Want to keep the costs down, but the current exhaust is so quiet. Even putting it in sports mode it’s dull.

Currently making a shopping list of the things I need to buy.

Deep breath and count to 10 time......the objectional child has sprung a coolant leak now madrolleyes

Just of to delve around the engine bay, hopefully it is just a water pipe from the turbo, however I have a horrible feeling its coming from the oil cooler...which is front off time AGAIN

Well the water was coming from the cooler to block gasket, it seems to have expanded as it doesn't fit in the housing any more, odd. Ordering some genuine ones, this one came in the head set. And the oil drip was coming from the turbo drain, the hoseclip had broken, so another easy fix however all very annoying.

Sadly this was my experience of my R55 Clubman S. Every 3 weeks it was in to my friendly Romanian mechanic for something else at several hundred pounds a pop.Oil feeds, coolant tank, coolant gaskets, valve covers, leaks galore....

Ironic that when I sold it, it was actually "sorted", although I suspect the brake servo was possibly an issue.

I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I part-exed it. Miss it hugely and I'm reminded of it every time I open the garage door and see the 3 packs of 5 litre oil bought cheap from Asda at £15 a pop. None of my fleet use a drop of oil in comparison to the Clubman.

The British Alfa Romeo.

New gen mini gaskets in the cooler and between cooler and block, seem to be a better fit than the ones that came in the head set, leason learnt!

The torque figures for the bolts aren't listed in my Haynes, but bother the cooler to oil filter housing and the whole assembly to block are both 16Nm.

weekly food shop, pizza & a beer have scuppered any test drive today :-)

Noticed ealier even though I drained down the coolant and took the water cooler pipes off there is some water in the sump again, cooler just drops water in the block on removal, so another oil flush needed again, so far the mini has done around 500 miles since rebuild and got through 5 oil changes LOL

Wow. Seems like everything has decided to give up on this car at the same time.

Will only use genuine gaskets again (as long as these ones work!) they definately fit better than the no brand ones that were in the head set I bought

I'll keep that in mind. Got some time off next week so going to give mine a full service and replace all the filters and plugs. While im at it going to check for any leaks, and get under the car to see what rust is visible.

Looks to be a bit on the subframe but thats surface. Also a little bit on the section where the jacking point is thats exposed to the elements. Scottish winters with lots of salt have not been kind to the car.

I hope so! You have spent more time under it than in it. Hopefully that will now change smile
