Are you doing the belt line too? It's a little fiddly, but juding by your skillset it will not be a problem smile

Gratuitous I know, but all chrome must go :-

Hope you get the heated seats going before the colder weather.
Did you do the headlight internals yourself or are they factory?

Tried the beltline for about 2 mins before getting annoyed, will look at it again.

Well after spending a few months hoping the leak would show itself I have pulled the trigger on a gen Mini 'stat housing and crossover pipe. I am sure it is weeping around the crossover to 'stat joint, just cannot see anything and only get a wiff of coolant after some spirited driving. Given the problem child this thing is i expect it still to have a leak after I change them out.

Right, finger was pulled out last night and spannering was done

Unbolting the inlet manifold makes it much easier to see what you are doing when you refit the crossover pipe, no need to disconnect the TB etc, you can push it back enough to see with everything still attached

And the culprit of the wiff of coolant!!
20211113_184856 by Old_Chad, on Flickr

Just after taking this photo the seal fell off, was split into 2 but held together in the back of the water pump. I swapped the thermostat at the same time, both genuine mini items this time. I did get a crossover pipe from Neo's but they sent out the generic PSA pipe which has an extra fitting on, wasn't going to use that one.
|New seal was uber lubed going into the back of the water pump, although I did last time I fitted it with the inlet manifold on so may not have got the pipe in square. If you are doing this yourself drop the manifold off, it is 5 extra nuts to take off but makes life so much easier.

I found this in someone's notes for adding heated seats: edit actually iis the same as already written on page 14

Add all the hardware, then afterwards add $494 to the VO (CAS and FRM), and then default FRM, CAS, SPEG and IHKA
What do people mean by default the modules? I am assuming the "SG-Codieren" job??

Right, I think I have out of date Daten files for NCS expert, just downloading the latest ones. I did manage to trash the KOMBI ecu just now, top tip, Bimmercode has an ECU recovery mode to get you out of jail!

So the money pit passed its MOT today with no advisories, as it bloody should!

Also noticed that I have seemed to have lost all puddle lights in the doors, cannot seem to find anything in Bimmercode to enable them though.

Job I have been debating over for a while, rear seats are MCS, fronts are JCW, so miss match on the piping....it was either get the seat piping replaced (£££) or colour it (£15), going with the colour it option! Will take a while to do as it needs 3 coats to match the front seats, but another week off work so will crack on...picture below its still wet so not an ideal colour match, and just a test on a none visible bit of piping.

All back in, the new colour is a tiny bit darker, not much, and not noticeable unless you look really closely.

service time. 6k miles & 12months, engine was getting noisier than it should on startup (I am paranoid on engine noises however) Not impressed with 5-40 Mobil oil. Now has Morris 5-40 in it, back to being as quiet as an N14 can be.

The problem child has thrown an error in a sulk for being parked up for 3 weeks without use! I now have a 93AC code for the drivers front side airbag. I did hope charging the battery and resetting the ABCU & BCU would sort it but it didn't, time to hit google.

Well the airbag issue was just a plug issue under the seat, reseated both sides multiplug for the seat, cleared the codes and all good. Got offered a silly deal on wifeys Jeep Renegade (2 years in on a 4 year PCP, dealer offered a deal to have it back which meant the 2 years cost us a few hundred quid apart from fuel) so the Mini is Wifey's daily for the rest of the year at least.

Wifey only does shiny so one valet later the Mini is shiny again

Had an altercation with a man hole cover in some grass while I was doing a cider delivery, expensive delivery frown Looks to have ripped the front drivers side jack block off and destroyed the sill cover, luckily no bodywork damage other than a bit of scratched paint, so an easy touch up. Hopefully sourced a second hand sill cover so a quick fix (maybe) Also found a set of used roof rails, so need to go and buy a big pot of brave pills and drill some holes in the roof to fit them, not a job I am looking forward to but I want rails on for my bikes and the Mini cross bars look st so not fitting them.

OCD was appeased for 1 mile today...I may have diverted from my route to go down a quiet lane so I could stop and take a photo LOL

On an annoying point, I am trying to program my lights with Bimmercode to come on with the unlock fob, nothing doing, wondering if my FRM is a bit duff.
