All covered up to the front of the rear seats, Will need to take the front seats and carpet out to do the rest. Noticably quieter just with the rear done.

Glad I fitted the 205-50-17 tyres, much less crashy than the 45's that were on it, and fill the arches a bit better.

fix 1 oil leak, and another appears frown Very slight leak this time, its either the oil feed for the turbo off the block or the return, front end off again.

Brake disks on the front need swapping too, may aswell do the whole lot as the rears have seen better days. Back in the garge it goes.

need to install a hinge on the front end LOL. Need to clear the garage, had a "tidy up" and have a load of crap in the way to go to the tip, think I will need to sort a skip out.

So brake wise, just pads and disks (prefered ones??) or more than that? Calipers will get a paint got to match the wing mirrors of course smile

full set of these all around.....

2020-05-14_10-13-43 by Old_Chad, on Flickr

Gone with yellow stuff pads, some people aren't impressed with them but I have always used them on lighter cars with no issues at all.

Just need to wash the mini and get it into the garage over the weekend.

I think it worked out £300 for the disks and yellowstuff pads all round.

So it is engine oil, seems to be coming from the front, and not on first glance from the oil cooler. No more oil pooling on top of the gearbox, so the vacuum pump leak had been sorted, this one however is getting worse quickly. I hope it is just one of the turbo lines or something easy headache

Arse, didn't spot on the first front one, the supplied disks are too small, they have sent cooper disks (?), not cooper S, they are too small.

So oil leak, turbo feed & return look too dry to be making the mess, so do I swap out the cooler housing gasket? Kind of think I may as well as I am in there are the moment... IMG_20200607_142748 by Old_Chad, on Flickr

Did the oil filter housing to block gasket and the cooler to housing gaskets, plus re fitted the turbo feeds. Hopefully sorted it now!

Just came to fire it up and the battery is flat, this car likes to wind me up! On charge, oil and water topped up, will fire it up in the morning and bleed the system out. Just waiting for the replacement disks to turn up and I am back on the road with it.

One thing I forgot to mention/do, when doing the oil cooler make sure you dont forget to drain the coolant unlike me. A sump full of mobil 1 in the bin, an oil filter and 5 litres of cheapy mineral oil through it to make sure. Didn't run it before I realised what I had done, just very annoying. Plus point I had it running for 30 mins with no sign of leaks smile

Leak prime suspect.....

they are high maintenance engines, but if you keep on top of them they seem okay. As long as the work done was to a decent standard it wouldn't put me off. Latest oil leak issue is my own fault, I should have replaced the seals when I did the head, hey ho.

So the mini is out of its favourite spot in the garage again, as long as no more issues pop up new wheels are on the agenda next....or maybe that stage 2 remap...or both.

Ebay one for £275ish, decent for the money, however the supplied clamps were crap, had to get new ones. Tempted to get it welded up, certainly the back boxes to the y pipe.

Deep breath and count to 10 time......the objectional child has sprung a coolant leak now madrolleyes

Just of to delve around the engine bay, hopefully it is just a water pipe from the turbo, however I have a horrible feeling its coming from the oil cooler...which is front off time AGAIN
