I have a Cooper S to sell, I cannot justify the fuel it uses, and the insurance difference for my girlfriend, so i'm selling it. Basically i'm finding it hard to value it as people are listing their cars with less options for the same money I am, but are they selling?

Is £4995 too much for a car as such...

58k miles, full history and MOT's to back up

2002 on a 52 Plate

Metallic Grey

Black Roof

Black Mirror Caps

Panoramic Roof with blinds

Heated Electric Mirrors

Cooper S Wheels

Run Flat Tyres

Tyre Pressure Monotoring System

Full Europe Sat Nav

Car Computer

Full Black Leather Seats

Heated Seats

Cruise Control

Multi Function Steering Wheel

Xenon Lights with head light washers and Follow Me Home Function

Rear Parking Sensors

Glovebox

6 Disc CD Changer

The car has a few marks (nothing bad or what you wouldnt expect on a car of this age) is HPI clear and generally a great car.

Have I priced it too high or should I hold out?

Thanks
VML

I'm sorry but that is way too high for the age! We have spent ages trying to sell our car and if we cant get 6.5k for our MCS (which is newer and better spec) why would you pay that much for an older car?!
Whilst I really appreciate all feedback, positive and negative, I feel I have now had a good look round the cars for sale, and whilst I may be pricing it a touch rich, I feel the minimum it is worth is £4600, giving the buyer a bit of haggling room.

I will update the thread on the sale price as a reference when sale is done.

Thanks

Just to update the situation for you guys,

I advertised it again, and within 2 days the car sold. I was really please, I advertised it for £4995, and sold for £4750.

Day two a bloke came to see it, he was pleased with it but had to se another so off he went, then someone called from Coventry, asked for my address and within a few hours he was there. He paid the price stated, not much haggling, he simply said whats your best price, I said 4750 expecting him to knock off 150 for 6 months tax, but no, he whipped out the cash and took the car.

That evening the guy who did view the car eairler asked if he could come get the car, FULL ASKING PRICE! Unfortunatly for both of us the car had already gone.

Obvioulsy one sale is not the complete market, but it goes to show, a high spec car is worth good money to the right people. Yes you can get a no nav, no heated half leather seat car for 1k less, but sometimes these things make all the difference.

Thanks
