Can't beleive you've gone for that colour GK52, and of course I already have a red leather interior. Was pretty much decided on it, might have to have a last minute change of mind but time running out to make a decission now. I used to be indecisive but now...Thanks for the tip on tail lights Huntsman. They have the tops too, same price (which is v.cheap imho): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ruckleuchtenglaser-taill...
Or a full set of tails lights albeit with US lenses (brace yourself):

Can anyone tell me where I can get the following:
- rubber/felt seal/channel that sits in chrome door frame for window to move up/down in.
- Door hinge bolts in S/S
- rubber boot lid seal
In fact if anyone has sourced all the rubber door seals required and could supply me with a list along with prices and suppliers that would be really handy
Have emailed DY too.
Yep, going vent-less, TBH I can't see that they would have made much difference to under bonnet temp, the actual hole from engine bay to vent was very small and had a lot of obstructions. 76 only has a single 14" fan at present and the only cooling issue I've had was due to water pump failing, I've sat in traffic a few time with no issues. Toying with upgrading to either a 16" or two smaller ones just in case.

Are you taking the car back to gel coat Mellow?
I believe so.B7trr said:
Lets hope you have a good labour rate......
I'm fortunate to have a specialist classic bodyshop in the family who also has plenty of GRP experience. Not really expecting mates rates but Cornish labour rates far better than South-East and I know he'll do a good job (otherwise he has to face the wrath of my Sister-in-law & Mrs Yellow!) P5Nij said:
Evening Gents, I'm not a GK owner (I wish...!) but am am admirer from afar... trawling the net for pics of these fabulous cars recently I came across this 1967 shot in a London street and looking at it just now noticed something rather nice parked up in the background...
Original comes from this site here, slightly better definition but still not possible to read the plate. Great site, some fantastic 60s motorsport pics.VFK44 said:
This may be of interest to Mellow Yellow: you mentioned that the bright yellow of your car meant it was recognised as having belonged to Quentin Keynes.
I own a Jensen 541 and one of the senior Jensen Owners' Club members owned a car that was also originally owned by the writer and traveller Quentin Keynes, the great grandson of Charles Darwin, and used by him on his travels abroad for the first nine years. It was similarly lurid, although I don't know whether that was due to Mr Keynes or a subsequent owner; in this case it was bright red, verging on orange. The car was sold a couple of years ago and has since re-emerged in Resale Silver, for a hefty price tag, in France:

Oddly enough a "finder" did try to pursuade me to buy a 541 when I started looking for a GK, apparently I had no chance of finding a decent GK within my budget, he was probably right but I'm not sure I'd a have got a decent 541 either. At the time I couldn't live with the 541 looks although it's grown on me since, that one look great. I'm afraid I'm also in the process of undoing Quentins psychedelic automotive works.I own a Jensen 541 and one of the senior Jensen Owners' Club members owned a car that was also originally owned by the writer and traveller Quentin Keynes, the great grandson of Charles Darwin, and used by him on his travels abroad for the first nine years. By coincidence, the same French dealer recently sold a GK, found it's way back to the UK now, I beleive:

On 76 the chrome trim along the top of the doors is held on with small S/T screws but the heads of these are are covered by the top of the trim (see profile image). Decay has assisted removal, any suggestions on how to re-attach these, it almost looks as if the chrome was folded over after they'd been screwed in. Outside is even trickier as it contains the rubber seal.

How's the painting prep progressing Mellow? Your turn for some photos....
After the initial flurry of activity, things have slowed somewhat, last update showed paint still coming off rather than going on, and still a fair bit to come off I'll chase for another update and put some up some more pics when there's a significant change.

Heaveho, that's quite a complement, especially considering the caliber of the turn out! a superb morning.
Gutted, I was there but didn't see you, presume you were on the Lavant straight? By the time I reached Woodcote I'd done two hours and needed to get back so didn't view the rest. Gassing Station | Classic Fibreglass | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
