PPlayed really well this morning. Playing a friendly match play game with a 7 handicapper. Half the difference gave me 5 shots. I was 3 up at one point but a really tough back 9 saw me 2 up with 2 to play and we ended up all square!
Serious amount of strong wind for the last 6 holes but a very enjoyable morning none the less!

Played Friday and Saturday. Started off 3 over on the front 9 on Friday and fell apart with a few blobs and 4 3 putts...again. Nightmare. Ended up hitting handicap after hitting 22 points on the front. Saturday was a nightmare. 30mph winds but still managed 30 points so wasn't a complete disaster. Can't wait for the summer to roll in and for us to get some half decent weather! Playing on 'hollow tine' greens every week is getting frustrating!
The wind on Saturday was tough, imagine playing on the beach where we are!! 5 club wind at times!!SpeckledJim said:

Just been asked to be the 4th player in a Texas scramble this Saturday
I've not played since October, yikes, I'm going to have to squeeze in a couple of holes over the next day or two to remind me what end of the club to hold, nothing worse than announcing a single figure handicap and subsequently topping it off the 1st tee.![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
(I have done this on more than one occasion
)
Or your team will be on the 16th having done really well so far, but having not used any of your tee shots. I've put a few quid each way on:
Justin Rose @ 40/1
Jordan Spieth @ 11/1
Jimmy Walker @ 22/1
I went with 6 each way bets of varying amounts:Justin Rose @ 40/1
Jordan Spieth @ 11/1
Jimmy Walker @ 22/1
Adam Scott @ 20-1
Dustin Johnson @ 16-1
Rickie Fowler @ 33-1
Henrik Stenson @ 20-1
Jason Day @ 16-1
Jim Furyk @ 66-1
I don't bet very often but like betting on golf.
Jason Day each way overall.
Am thinking I should pop a few £'s on Justin Rose also.....

Each way bets on Spieth and Rose looking good at the moment!
Really not a fan of Speith. Can't deny his talent. Just maybe needs some media training. Would much prefer Rose or Mcilroy to win it. Great to see the Big Easy up in the mix after day one as well. I would love Rose to win it - probably my favourite player along with Robert Rock!
As for McIlroy, something isn't right with him at the moment. he shouldn't be shooting the same score as 65 year old Tom Watson. Needs to sort himself out, can't see him winning this on yesterdays showing.

I thought Woods played some really good stuff yesterday .What I find a bit strange is how he needs to be "taught" anything about the game and whilst physically a driver can destroy your back the same cannot be said about a putter.
I hope he does well.
"Come on Ernie lad" was the shout at Hoylake a few years back so come on Ernie.
I agree to an extent but yet again the TV bods devoted way too much attention to him. His playing partners were one of the current best players in the world and a European Ryder cup hero and they rarely got shown in the coverage. And I had to cringe at the hero worship commentator descriptions of 'magnificent' chips and pitches that he played.....especially since they always followed a sI hope he does well.
