I started watching as a kid in 1986, which was the first year the Tour was shown in the UK, and for many years after that it was exciting and rare for a Brit to even win a stage or mountains jersey. Different times!
First two I remember were Chris Boardman's prologue win in 1994 and Max Sciandri in 1995.Another boring stage today, hopefully the action hots up over the weekend.
Ever so slightly off topic - an interesting/uplifting article about the former Robert Millar.
