It was the chairman of NZ Rugby, not Steven Hansen.

He has a point. Just not the moral high ground given New Zealand's own record!

Apologies. It was Brent Impey NZR chairman I believe. Let's face it NZ is just a 'soft' SA. Whilst apartheid was never a thing, it is a thing. Unless of course you want the indigenous to play rugby for you! It needs calling out for what it is. Hypocrisy.

Cheers. He makes a fair point although I suspect players from Pacific Islands are absolutely free to play wherever they please and make a beeline for say England because it has better training facilities, more clubs and players are better paid.

Hilarious that a Kiwi has the nerve to say that though. I can remember one Martin Johnson was nearly snared by the New Zealand developmental system until he saw sense and chose to play for our mob instead.

"Scottish Rugby has questioned whether a misconduct charge from World Rugby is "appropriate"."

For the avoidance of doubt if it wasn't when they started threatening legal action for something that didn't happen it is certainly now !
Yes. If squabbling about a few million pounds which they wouldn’t have got anyway, wasn’t petty enough before 66 people lost their lives, it certainly will bring rugby into disrepute arguing about it now.

Mike, that just makes you look bitter, Take the joke in the spirit it was intended.

We played four matches and oit humped in two. We deserve to be sat in the pub...

Yeah everyone in world rugby had a good laugh at England getting knocked out in the group stage last RWC.

I think the Irish man will be in the pub, but the Welshman and the Englishman will still be in Japan.

A week later they will all be back in the pub.

The New Zealander and the South African will still be in Japan, but they don't feature in pub jokes anyway!

The soundest QF prediction so far.

They didn't threaten legal action nor did they raise the question of compensation. Dodson simply said that the SRU had a different interpretation of what was possible based on a QC looking at the agreement for them. The rest was media embellishment much like the false statement that the BBC attributed to Eddie Jones.

The Offside Line blog records what Dodson actually said. For the avoidance of doubt: while it is a Scottish Rugby blog, they vehemently hate Dodson for other reasons.

It's just as petty for World Rugby to drag it up again, especially with the tournament ongoing.

Chill out Doc... I was replying in a jokey manner - clearly lost in the text.
We got jumped by Ireland, beaten by 7 by Japan... just saying.
