OOI what did Djokovic do that was distasteful? I watched the match and other than him breaking a finger nail when he slipped over I don't recollect any shenanigans? RichB said:

He produced (not for the first time) an excellent rope-a-dope cramping/staggering routine that IMHO had exactly the effect he hoped for. Murray needs to be able to ignore whatever is happening on the other side of the net and retain focus. But he knows that better than anyone else.Leithen said:

To me he's becoming a bit like Ronnie O'sullivan, lots of talent but too much crap in his head. If you can't handle what's going on in your own head, how can you expect to figure out your opponent?
I'll think you'll find that Ronnie has got past all that crap now with the help of Steve Peters.Another week another Andy Murray disappointment.
I feel this report to be a fair and true analysis of what Murray is essentially going to be facing for the foreseeable future.

Awesome Davis Cup display by James Ward.... 2 sets down to 2 sets all against John Isner and now 13 all in the fifth set.
Edit. Brilliant! 5 hours to win 15-13 in the fifth, GB 2-0 up against the USA. Murray against Isner following the doubles should wrap up a win for GB.

Interesting to note that the British National Party is sponsoring the tennis.
Most astute marketing/ promotional strategy from the tts.
Tongue firmly in cheek right? Most astute marketing/ promotional strategy from the tts.
Right?!
Anyway, blooming great tennis today and yesterday, hoping Andy can do the business over Isner tomorrow after Wards heroic efforts.
I was watching the Davis Cup at the weekend and like most was amazed by the speed and disguise of Isner's serve.
My father -In -Law was telling me that the serves have slowed down since his day. I suggested the guys have just got better at returning them as most guys have a heavy serve now and its the norm. A quick google tells me that the ball moves faster now. He wasn't for this and told me that Roscoe Tanner could go whole matches without a rally on his serve.
I noticed his 153mph effort was the only old one in the top 30. All others from the 90s or 2000s onwards.
I assume this guy just had an absolute bullet serve in the days when no one was used to it?

I always thought Greg Rusedski held the record for the fastest serve and he would have been after Rosco Tanner. I don't know if Tanner's is an unofficial speed or what but certainly Wiki and everything else both now and then said 149 was a record.
"Rusedski held the record for fastest serve at 149 miles per hour until Andy Roddick broke it."
