Rumour is that they will play Monty and Giles and drop Jimmy Anderson. This could be problematic if Harmison's radar is off again.

And why Giles? For his batting. I would rather see Monty in, use Pietersen as the 2nd spinner if need be (he spins it more than Giles) and play Joyce as the extra batter with Jones the drop batting at 8. Playing Giles, who is slow in the field and surplus to reqs. as a spinner if Monty plays as a batsman seems daft.

With the Aussies not even putting that slitty-eyed freak McGill in the squad, we don't need two spinners, so drop 'Dusty Bin' and get Monty in. Either play Anderson (who has to keep a better length) or play Mahmood as already suggested.

But win that bloody toss!

Breaking news: unchanged team for the Test ... idiots.

GET MONTY IN!! If we lose this Test Fletcher will have to reconsider his position ...

BBC said: In their first innings in the last seven Tests in Adelaide Australia have scored 428, 575, 556, 552, 439, 403, 441, going on to win six of the matches and losing just one ...

Doesn't bode well although we wait to see if McGrath is playing ... the farmer has an injured heel.

WIN THAT BLOODY TOSS FRED!

Oh dear, oh dear.

I can only think they decided to match the Aussies like for like on the basis of them not picked MacGill, but they have the benefit of have a much better attack atm. Amazed they haven't picked Monty, they basically have to win the toss and bat first to have a chance.

Lets see how they go on batting first.

Hopefully we'll get off to a decent start.

Oh boy, what is Fletch up to keeping Giles in the squad? I just hope that Monty doesn't become a cricketing Walcot, he'd better play soon or he'll forget what to do.

cautious start, but still, 20 over without loss would be good to begin with.

Not wanting to tempt fate...but it's looking quite a nice batting track with not much being offered to the bowlers. Just a couple of balls nipping behind but falling well short.

What we need is to build a strong innings for once and keep the convicts in the field until tomorrow afternoon at least. Get McGrath to tire himself and work on those blisters for 30 overs!!

Your analysis and predictive powers during the first two games has been outstanding.

Looking forward to another Giles and Jones show?
