Yes hopefully. Emma lost the first set against the Czech 'rising star', but went on to take the following two and win the match..

Is it still on Prime? I'll watch it first thing if so as I am only playing at 9.00, a bit of inspiration might help me!

I feel sorry for her, the US Open is like an albatross around her neck. She's the girl who won big and then would have disappeared into obscurity if it wasn't for the media coverage. Is she still even a ranked player?

I’m still hopeful that with the right support/coaching/fitness regime she will do well again.
Remember Andy Murray broke down a lot at the beginning of his career.

At least it saves the embarrassment of being knocked out in the 1st round.

I feel a bit sorry for her. She obviously had the tournament of her life in US Open but probably isn't at that level (yet). She may need to have a long break and come back mentally and physically stronger

Think this was the second round. Even the match she won before this was one where she lost the first set. It made the news only because she actually won a match,

Sadly another day, another injury. But it's a long season, so hoping with proper coaching and support her results improve....

Some sports stars do just spend more of their time injured than on the 'pitch' don't they, sadly. So many talented footballers certainly saw their careers stall/end early because they couldn't stop getting injured, so maybe she'll be one of those.

Andy Murray was. He had to really work on his body to stop it breaking down all the time. Sounds like she's going to have to do the same.

Didn't she slip and turn her ankle, could have happened to anyone.

Wouldn't class it as her body breaking down confused

I was watching- she slipped and turned the ankle and immediately the commentators were saying ‘that could happen to anyone’.

Yes she slipped on the "Perth" paint lettering which gets slippy when moisture gets there, whether ambient (indoor) or through sweat dripping on it.

The accident was unlucky but when you're massively down on your luck/performances this is just another set back she has to come back from.

Exactly right and it is pretty much impossible to carry on once it happens. Hopefully it isn't a bad one.

Love the optimism in this thread, if I was into my tennis, I would have given up on her ages ago!!

Yet somewhere inside her is the ability to win 9 straight matches to win a US Open.
That’s what makes her interesting.
