First half was good tight rugby. Second half was spoilt as a contest by some poor reffing.

Utterly sick of the ITV commentary, you’d think only one team was participating.

Well done Ireland, worthy winners of the 6N overall though France have played some of the best rugby.

Jesus! Can people stop sprouting such utter bloody nonsense just because there's been a card???

We've just had a decent tussle, Ireland have had to fight hard for the win, and it's not the card that made the difference, it was just Ireland's ability to finish their relatively few opportunities more clinically.

Whining about cards is just disrespectful to the players on both sides and the effort they put in.

As for the card itself, if Steward had enough time to turn away like that, then he had enough time to dip and tackle. His fault, end of.

Why are we not allowed oh mighty one? It totally changed the game, he was bracing for impact. Well played both sides!

And the ball carrier has enough time to change direction and avoid contact altogether.

Another harsh card for me. Doesn’t really matter much now but it’s a fking test match.
Harsh ? Haven’t been reading the rules much lately ??

Poor game, Ireland did just about enough.

Haven't heard it this year - do the Irish still sing Molly Malone?

Gritty, as I knew it would be. Brilliant to have the GS in the bag, and sets us up well for the World Cup. The first time in a long while where we’re peaking at the right time, plus we’re showing the consistency that probably rightly has us ranked number 1 right now.

France are probably still my pick for RWC, but we should hopefully have a good run

A final word on Sexton. He has many critics, and there have been more talented players over the years (Drico, Geordan Murphy, Tony Ward, Gibson by many accounts), but for me Sexton epitomises everything that makes Ireland a great international side now. Talent, focus, fearless, tough. He’s the greatest Irish player ever IMO

Agreed. Don't understand what he was trying to achieve by turning his shoulder and jumping into contact.

Given this display the Irish and English will be luck to get past the quarters of the RWC.

As far as I can see England have a pretty favourable route to the semis, Ireland tougher.

So you can pick up a clear forward pass and run into someone now then?
Apparently so. That’s a fking shocking miss by literally every official.

About half a dozen forward passes have been missed in every 6N game this year.

If they’re not going to put it in the scrum straight then why worry about straight passes?
