Spence too big and Garcia was too heavy for his size.

Garcia dared to be great so no criticism really but Spence could do anything he wanted to in that ring.
Damn, forget was on due to kids stuff. Will watch later

WTF was Manny doing in the ring after? Thurman has already called him out, and at his age, why not take on him instead of Spence.

Manny has accepted the Spence call out apparently!

My hero Manny is going to face a bigger, stronger, younger fighter who looked a bit tasty on Saturday fighting Garcia.

I hope Manny thinks and trains hard for this, as he won't be able to out punch or overpower Spence - speed and counters might be the focus. I'd be heartbroken if Manny took a pasting as he's my idol.

If he did pull it off mind then it may well tempt FM out of his bed linen and set up the rematch I want to see.

Sean Porter was commentating for Fox, in a post fight interview, they spoke and Porter challenged him. Spence agreed that if Manny wasn't game then it was a good fight for him.

Also impressed with how Fox marketed the fight to casual fans- rumour of one million ppv buys for Spence Garcia!

nobody will ever convince me that if floyd and manny had fought 5/6 years earlier the outcome would have been the same. floyd wanted no part of that relentless threshing machine when manny was at his peak...

i can't believe at this stage in his career he's seemingly more than happy to take on one of the current p4p best

I suspect he thought the fight would either go Garcia's way, or more balanced. And that's why he had to probably pre agreed to go in ring, as he was on the opposite side to Spence hoping he would forget him hehe

And he gave a politicians answer of "why not" rather than a straight yes.

Would be amazed if he took it, as he said before Broner that he would fight 3 more years and it could end him.

yes and Mayweather could come out and fight Canelo again now, it may make more money than the Manny fight did so no reason not to, but he wont.

Canelo's last fight was at super middle, so I doubt that'll happen, he was barely out of adolescence when he fought mayweather.

Mayweather's career both in and out the ring has been flawless in terms of maximising his earning and limiting his physical risks (maybe there's a tax bill or two he could have avoided) it's very hard for me not to admire the guy.

Well yeah, if we ignore the insignificant facts that he hasn't had a proper bout since 2015 and that he's 42 years old and retired. Maybe we can get Marvin Hagler out of retirement and in the ring with GGG too?

He keeps himself in exceptional condition but father time catches up with everyone eventually.

^ when is Mayweather not retired!

Interesting listening to Spence about motivation for this fights training camp.

He was mighty pissed how everyone talked about Garcia's Ring IQ being so high, and so writing him off as a just a puncher. Really annoyed him.

Hence why he didn't try to walk through him as his usual style, but box him to prove the critics wrong.

It really was a boxing lesson for Mikey. Thoroughly enjoyed that fight, counterbalanced by watching 'UFC's 10 Greatest Slugfests' immediately after biggrin

got to agree, flawlessly executed career but i've never been able to allow myself to be a fan due to the way he engineered his path and had the dice loaded in his favour in so many ways so many times...not to mention Intravenous drip-gate.... kind of why i've gone from being a huge canelo fan to still admiring his skill set...but i never want him to win anymore! smile

so... friday's action...

i still haven't had time to watch farmer/carrol but my god the luke campbell fight with the mexican kid was superb. campbell klooked better than ever getting in and out off angles like that was great to watch.

yelleussinov looked fantastic again to me but his sublime skill set rather than an "all-out-war knock 'em out" style is going to make him a connoisseur's choice rather than a casual attraction.

raymond ford is a kid to watch ...that overhand left hook was a pech!..how that other guy got through the fight though!

rosado/sulecki!!!!!!!!!!!.... fight of the year candidate right there... how rosado nearly turned it all around towards the end of the fight in the 9th!!... fking great fight!

katie taylor is a cut above isn't she! that brazilian was unbeaten going in and was made to look a rank amateur..that busted nose looked pretty sore too..

saturday night

i was surprised spence made it look so easy....but garcia has already come through 4 weights then jumped another 2...was always gonna be a massive ask..

benevidez will have raised a fewq eyebrows among the other super middles wiping out love so easily!

arreola still grinding away...that kid he stopped was previously unbeaten...but untested...

So do Dazn actually want to be the Netflix of the sports world, or do they want to be the Facebook of the sports world.

I.e. not make money from the a small monthly subscription, but make billions by selling out users to advertiser's.

I for one applaud Wilder for turning down Dazn, never realised he was a digital rights advocate thumbup

Wlad could have made many millions to take that AJ Wembley rematch, but he was done mentally and rightly said no.

So would be surprised if he took that, Whyte/AJ/Wilder would be tough fights at his age, risking his health, and Fury may repeat his walkover...

Crazy isn't it but I was talking to someone the other day about Bruno vs Tyson 1 and how it really launched Sky TV and Sky sports to the nation in 1988. As a young kid all I wanted to do was see that fight and remember nagging my parents (fruitlessly) to get Sky, there was billboards and massive marketing offers on the back of that one fight. DAZN is global and the money in the global market is presumably huge.

There's nothing like heavyweight boxing to get people to sign up to something
