I’ve used Ping for many years and recently (finally decided I’m good enough!) gone for Mizuno MP20’s.
So like Jim above either of those brands for me.
Never been a Titleist fan for no real reason and certainly don’t like Taylormade, again this is just personal preference.
I would also look at Srixon.

Re the clubs, if I hadn't have gone for the Orka route I was very tempted with the t100 look and perform great. Being honest anything you choose these days is mainly personal preference they all do a great job it's just what looks and feels the best for you.
Finally decided on a course and joined, bring on 2021 hopefully pans out better than 2020

Played my first round at my new club today. Aaaaand it was bloody cold and windy.
The last four holes were brutal. Two par 4s and a par 5 straight into the wind and an up hill 180 yard par 3.
Shot 43 out with a tripple on 9. Then 47 coming home finishing 7, 8. for a very frustrating 90.
On reflection I'm pretty happy with the round. The last two holes were just hard, and slightly off drives made it hard to get back back into play despite trying to play conservatively. My game is trending in the right direction.

Also. Tried a range finder out and don't think I can be bothered with one. So now considering a Garmin watch. The S60 looks like decent value for a refurbished one. But is the S62 worth the premium or are there other alternatives?
Currently using an app on my phone which I don't mind, but would rather not carry it round.

I have an Apple Watch and use MScorecard and easy to get all the distances, and hazards on my local courses. Currently using an app on my phone which I don't mind, but would rather not carry it round.

Smaller the better for me. Least amount of options and functions, too.Currently using an app on my phone which I don't mind, but would rather not carry it round.
I use the Garmin X10 and love it. Small, thin, basic. Does everything I need.

I used to use my Apple Watch - but found it inaccurate when comparing friends Garmin's and range finders. Several manual checks later.... and it was inaccurate! Lost the trust in it and went for the Garmin.CustardOnChips said:

I've gone for a ShotScope v2 - been pretty impressed with it if I'm honest. It's a GPS watch with shot tracking built in - they give you a set of tags you screw into the end of your clubs, then it automatically picks up when you hit a shot, what club etc, Then, with a bit of tweaking when you get home (it can miss the odd putt), it gives you all sorts of weird and wonderful stats when you finish - GIR, Fairways hit, score, etc etc. Currently using an app on my phone which I don't mind, but would rather not carry it round.
For instance how far you hit each club:
Accuracy off the tee:
Putting:
Main thing it's taught me is that is I need to hit putts harder and get more drives on the short stuff - sorry not on the short stuff, on the course
Only issue I found was the battery wouldn't last 2 rounds in a day, but I'm told the v3 fixes that, and is a lot slimmer into the bargain.
First round since September for me last weekend at my home course (Came Down GC, Dorchester) and given such a long lay off (and no range visits either) I was pleasantly surprised (actually scratch that, I was bl**dy amazed) to shoot a gross 76 - my equal lowest score since I joined this club in early 2109.
One temporary meant it wasn't valid for submission but to be frank I'm not bothered - it was a wonderfully sunny but cold morning and I just seemed to relax and play golf without too much thought or analysis. Four birdies and only 2 doubles and all the rest pars with the odd bogey.
Well pleased! Especially beating my playing partner (and oldest friend) by an immensely satisfying 19 shots and 18 points!!

Must be close to me! Never played Chesterfield, but playing Grassmoor this morning! Looking at that website it looks a lovely course, will have to try it out sometime. Finally decided on a course and joined, bring on 2021 hopefully pans out better than 2020

Our little group are looking at joining a club when the weather picks up a little - Lees Hall, College Pines, Rufford Park and Renishaw are all on the shortlist to name a few. We tend to play 52 weeks a year so need a course that holds up well in winter ideally!

I'm in Sheffield. Our little group are looking at joining a club when the weather picks up a little - Lees Hall, College Pines, Rufford Park and Renishaw are all on the shortlist to name a few. We tend to play 52 weeks a year so need a course that holds up well in winter ideally!
College pines is the obvious choice for 52 weeks a year as it's sand based, downside, everyone wants to play it in the winter
Renishaw turns into a swimming pool with the rain
Lees Hall isn't bad
Rufford I love much better than all of them but not sure what it's like in the winter
Not sure where you are but others of note (which I considered)
Cavendish, horsley lodge and silkstone

In the end I went for the JPX921's. Fantastic club and (for me) miles above the Ping G710/I500, Taylormade P790's and Titleist T300's.So like Jim above either of those brands for me.

Really happy with the results gained some extra speed with a change in shaft and dispersion was a lot more concentrated.

Enjoy mate! You can’t go wrong with Mizuno IMO! How long is the wait? Really happy with the results gained some extra speed with a change in shaft and dispersion was a lot more concentrated.
