One of the best stages of the last 30 years.

Have they invented some new type of undetectable 'roid...

Amazing race today, even had the wife and kids watching, which isn't too helpful as 9 year old daughter wiped out on a small hill a fees years back and that won't help (helmet saved her).

No news from BMC on Porte yet, worrying.

Apparently he was asking for his hat and glasses. Utter superheroes these guys.

Great news... considering how bad it could have been

Guess he won't be doing the Vuelta!

I've read that Geraint was taken out by Polish rider Majka.

I can't decide whether he is the unluckiest rider in the world or just a bit crashy, so many of his falls are the fault of other people, but it is always him...

I know what you mean. Him and Porte do always seem to be quite unlucky. But it could be poor positioning or bike handling skills. I'm not really in a position to judge him, either way.

If i had been doing that descent it would have taken about an hour, and would need a new set of rims, brake pads and shorts.

One of the reasons Geraint will never win a grand tour (other than his ability) is that he cannot stay upright. You simply don't crash as much as he does without it sometimes being your fault. Shame as he's a nice guy, but it just underlines his credentials as a great domestique vs winner.

This race looks pretty much done to me, nobody looks to be able to make Froome crack, and he'll hammer them all in the second TT.

Next weeks two mountain stages should be good, though why they have opted for so few summit finishes this year I'll never know.
