Indeed.

Let's just hope he's not a lone voice....and that whoever they choose for the top job is actually good at it and can clear out the dross.

Wood out of tomorrow's second Test, and Robinson still not ready to return either. Saqib Mahmood is Wood's replacement.

This seems to be tediously slow, we're into the afternoon session and only 30 overs bowled with just 50 runs scored sleep

Boycott will be enjoying it though

It’s good that England haven’t lost anymore wickets, but surely the idea of the game is to score some runs too….

We're at 211 / 2

If we don't lose many more by the end of the day, we'll start fresh and they'll be knackered. Push on til tea then put them in when they're properly worn out and with a lot of scoreboard pressure on them

Optimist. New ball due before close of play.

On the bright side, we've only lost 3wkts.

Lees was too slow though. Yes we want stable openers... But not at the expense of ticking the score over.

If we can pile on some runs (100?) in the morning, maybe. Otherwise drawville beckons.

Lees out LBW for the 3rd time. Makes me think he’s a bit leaden footed.

it can only get worse from here! (eternal optimist / long-suffering Eng fan).
Cricinfo reckons 400+ is par so what do you reckon? Go large and bat once hoping bowlers can take 20 wickets on a lifeless pitch?

I'll guess the *oakes can push on for another ten or twenty overs, put another 50 to 100 on between them and then put the WIndies in for a short enough session that they can't make much dent in the deficit, but could lose a few wickets.

Seems to be the plan now.

Can we get 9wkts before they get another 236 runs?
