He has made that claim before about his birth weight being 1lb.

If he was born three months premature, I suspect his actual birth weight was somewhere around 3lb.

Yes but didn't he say he shed 2lb in those 3 months making his full 9-month gestation weight 1lb?

One of my boys was premature and Tyson at 3 months premature could easily have been 1lb

Maybe it varies, but my understanding is that a 3 month prem baby would normally be around 3lb.

I thought Stevenson looked old vs Jack, and he is close to the point he is going to have to pass the baton over to the next generation.

Not seen anything of Gvozdyk though, so will be interesting. (I'm waiting for Yarde to step up in class at light-heavy to see if he is worth the hype).

Yep - I'm waiting for that too. I thought he'd be fighting more frequently given how quickly his fights to date have finished.

Looks like a real future world beater at this stage.

I'm suspect artistic license is being used and he was 1lb 15oz or something along those lines.

Your last point is the key question. Physically, he looks a specimen - an incredible physique, considering his fighting weight.

I'm a bit worried about his trainer's training techniques though - they seem unproven at this stage, in-particular his aversion to bringing in good quality sparring. Maybe as a result, but Yarde's defensive skills leave a bit to be desired.

But in the ring Yarde has such a desire to dominate his opponent. I remember his fight against Chris Hobbs. Now I know Hobbs isn't even at British level, but the way he concentrated on taking him out with body shots was nasty.

he's got a very nice pull back right hand counter he seems to employ to great effect. i've noticed he does a fair bit of mixing up the power in his shots. he seems to deliberately throw flurries without much power then in the middle of the combo lets a stinger go. you can see the hesitation in his opponents as they don't know when the power shot is coming. joe calzaghe and wladimir used this tactic particularly well off the jab for me...

looking solid so far with obvious amateur pedigree.

as to anthony yarde..he certainly looks to have a lot of potential. he has a tendency to go a bit gung ho but his shot placement and combinations look superb...he needs to be let of the lead a bit now i think but is being held back too much. he gets a bit of stick for not fighting callum johnson but now hosea burton is goading him that should make for a great fight and i see yarde winning that in a fashion as well...that will highten his profile somewhat

Interesting re Gvozdyk. Will certainly watch out for that.

With Yarde, if he gets matched with Hosea Burton, I think that would be a *very* interesting fight at establishing his level.
