Who is co-commentating on the Ding match?

Thought I heard JP call him Dave ?
Dave Farrar, apparently. I've not heard of him myself. Mainly known for football commentary I believe.

There's another new commentator I don't recognise and its really annoying me. Anyone?

Blimey Murphy fairly well beaten there. Didn't look up for it at all. Had a good season up to this point, maybe not one who could cope with the empty theatre.

it must be a factor, although they practice for hours solo.

the first day at least had some audience, what was the reason for the change of policy back to no crowd ?

Lack of match practice is part of the problem. Murphy wouldn’t have played a competitive match in weeks, maybe a month or so. Saengkham had to qualify to reach the Crucible so was match sharp?

A great match between Allen and Clarke.
I'm actually quite enjoying having no audience, no muppets shouting out or phones going off.

Been a few upsets already this year, interesting to see who goes all the way.

I enjoyed watching it as well. Clarke played well and for me I reckon that having no crowd really worked in his favour.

Just found out that Murph had just been to the funeral of a good mate of his, so possibly in not the best frame of mind.

Sure I read somewhere it was his old manager.

Time to forgive and forget, imo. He's served his time.
Didn't he essentially get off with it almost scot free?

Punished not for what he did - try to cheat the whole sport, for money he didn't need - but for a technicality based on what he didn't do - report his own 'crime'.

Stick off the fans for the rest of his otherwise stellar career is the least he deserves, IMO. He's extremely lucky to have a career at all.
