It's such a great photo for a number of reasons.1) It shows he's a totally deluded sociopath.
2) Despite just being outed as the greatest cheat in sport he's kicking back on his sofa and saying "fk you" to everyone.
When you mention St David Millar being a cheat you get the "the pressure on racers in that era to take drugs was to strong to resist" and "everyone was on it so to keep your place in the team..." so if everyone was doping and the pressure to dope was to great to resist then LA won his titles on an "equal" playing field!
Oh but he didn't repent.
They all cry crocodile tears once they are caught!
P.S. I am a ban them for life advocate!

Different dope, different source and availability of the product, different doctors supplying it and helping with its use and training, different links with the regulator, more chance of a positive test being lost or ignored if you are LA and the main attraction. etc etc. It certainly wasn't an equal playing field. LA could even "make positive tests disappear" he boasted to team mates.

But that doesn't mean those he was racing were clean does it ??
Who knows? I don't know who was clean and who wasn't. Who had access to what drugs or which doctors etc. It makes it impossible to make any assessment about any of their true abilities. It certainly doesn't make it "a level playing field" though as someone above stated.

It's not unusual for the kingpin or leader to receive a harsher punishment than his followers.

Really? Didn't know that. From what I remember this was due to the court case about unpaid bonuses? Still lied under oath in an active case (at that time).
But that has nothing to do with a sports body. The court will take the necessary action if someone is found out telling pork pies when under oath. EPO was a game changer, previoulsy they took amphetamines which just wasnt that effective, some good info
here on drugs through the years.
Lance was a smart cookie and quickly worked out how to get the best from EPO, whether it was intended or not, the way he assisted in the proliferation of EPO throughout the peolton helped him turn the majority of the riders into dopers which he may have thought would lessen the guilt. He wasnt the only one yadda yadda but his actions were far beyond those who just took EPO to compete. Surely you can appreciate that? As Moncoutie proved, at Cofidis of all teams!, you can race and win clean but you just cant keep up the pace over three weeks of a stage race without resorting to something stronger than espresso.
Team owners didnt have much choice really, ride clean and finish last, ride dirty and be in with a chance. Sponsors didnt really care and the UCI were enjoying the boom and the increased publicity that the likes of Lance was bringing to the sport so werent prepared to challenge the status quo.

LA should be banned for life even though his cycling career is already over due to his age to prove a point but others "snitches" shouldn't who know there guilt is going to surface so spill their guts?
Should we welcome "dopers" into the olympics at the expense of young "clean" riders to try and get success?
We all want a drug free sport, I hope? But some people seem to think that "life bans" are to long but then you get the DeLucas of this world laughing there tits off while driving their Ferraris down Forte Dei Marmi!
Hang LA out to dry by all means but don't let the others worm their way out!
