Official ICC Cricket World Cup - Summer 2019 One Dayers

I am not sure losing to Bangladesh in an ODI is an upset anymore.
They have beaten Australia, England (in the last WC). India, Pakistan and South Africa.
They have a decent competent team with skills and the execute well. They are a good side and I could see them in the final four.
You would think it will be Australia, India and England.
I would be happy if either Bangladesh or New Zealand made the other spot.
Pakistan have all the talent and could put it together, they seem to have a habit of getting it right on the night.

Have you forgotten that the West Indies are in this tournament?
If they don't make the semis at least I will be very surprised.
They have serious fire power in all depts, team spirit, a proper captain and a great mix of youth and experience.
I'd go as far as saying they should be favourites.
Yes all that is true a good ODI side for sure. I wonder whether they will be consistent enough, but I guess you can wonder that about all the teams, England included. If they don't make the semis at least I will be very surprised.

Pakistan made a good start here england look a bit erratic.
you never know which Pakistan team will turn up though!
really enjoyed the Bang SA match yesterday
England look ok, fielding well. Bowling a bit too many short balls. Pakistan hit 340 twice in the 5 match series and we won both of those... you never know which Pakistan team will turn up though!
really enjoyed the Bang SA match yesterday
At the end of the 10th of and the power play, Pakistan were 69/0 so a run rate of 6.90
At the end of the 20th they were 111/1 run rate 5.55
Coming up to 25 overs on 140, its a solid platform, but they really need to kick on.
As I type that is a horrible drop from Roy. (The kind of chance I always hated a when fielding, I much preferred sharp reaction only catches to skiers with loads of time to think about it)

Roy out early, wasted our only review. Selfish.
At least Bairstow has lasted longer than a ball this time.
I think Bairstow is the worlds best opener in ODI format and scores a century every five innings. At least Bairstow has lasted longer than a ball this time.
Not sure you can really criticize England’s batting at the moment. Ali is the only one who hasn’t made a score for a while but as he bats 8 and takes wickets I guess it’s ok.
50 up of seven overs... what crisis ?

Great game of cricket , the Pakistani's have a habit of showing up just when it matters .
I listened on the wireless all day & it seems we fielded poorly & bowled poorly .
Oh well can't win em all.
I watched all of the Pakistan innnings. Roy dropped a regulation catch, and we probably left 20-25 runs out there through poor fielding including a five (single and four overthrows) which was totally village. I listened on the wireless all day & it seems we fielded poorly & bowled poorly .

Our bowling plan didn’t work today. I like Plunkett for the middle overs, he has more control, Stokes is a fine bowler, but he always goes for lots of runs. Wood is quick, but he really didn’t look like taking wickets.
It was a close match, fine margins, two of our players made centuries and it was a cracking game of cricket, Pakistan are much better with Amir in the team.

Disgraceful umpiring by Chris Gaffaney - gave Gayle out twice when he wasn’t out. Then missed a massive no-ball and the very next ball, which should have been a free hit, gave Gayle out lbw to a ball which was only just clipping leg stump.
Stevie Wonder would do a better job.

It was no better at the other end, Holder was also given out twice and successfully overturned them. Stevie Wonder would do a better job.

I am going to say that's the best outfield catch I have ever seen.
Certainly an worthy equal to the Stokes catch. I like both for different reasons. Stokes is just an amazing grab to make it stick. Cottrell has fantastic presence of mind and kinetic awareness of the moment.
Both fabulously athletic.

I was at Trent bridge yesterday, cracking game but a real shame that the Windies batting never quite got going properly.
Gayle was a star in the outfield playing on his slowness and the Aussie outfield took the abuse well![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Great to be there, looked a good game until the last three or four overs. Gayle was a star in the outfield playing on his slowness and the Aussie outfield took the abuse well

Will be interesting to see how England go today.

ARCHER!!!!!
That was exquisite. Trimmed the top of off, took the bail with it, and the ball cleared the boundary!
Moves to the number one on the list of bowlers I would not like to face. Incredible. ARCHER!!!!!

Thoroughly decent outing for England, hopefully we will play Plunks in every match now, and Moeen not so much. Wakes has always had these game all his career. I don’t like it, I never have and a few wickets here or there doesn’t take change my mind, he is like a s

Right so let’s just say it wasn’t a classic match yesterday but as always it’s a cracking day out, drinking in the sun, three generations of my family and a good mate, loads of food and some excellent crowd banter.
WI players are a friendly bunch and remained so even when staring down the barrel.
Universal Boss actually bowled ok, until he stopped bowling for turn and fired in a few medium pacers for variety. Was pretty fun to watch. Shame Buttler wasn’t in at the time.
Anyway we bowled some really good stuff. Woakes, Wood and Archer were awesome. Quick, hostile on target and gave them nothing.
Why Rashid got all his overs and Stokes got more than one remains a mystery... but whatever. Consider Rash went for more than 60 from 10 out of only 212 and you can see it was weak. However Morgs was off by then and it was clear we were MILES ahead.
Good to be a lucky tosser, hope the injuries are minor and we stay on track.
Cracking day out and I can confirm Root is a proper cricket cricketer. Super stylish and immaculate drives, but I love to watch Bairstow. So aggressive.
