What loft/bounce and grind options did you go for?

There's speculation that courses may be opening back up on 11th.

The timing couldn't be worse if true. I finished work the day the closure came into action and will be going back to work on the 11th! May have to delay my return!
Come down with a tickly cough and temperature for a week!

So far this year it's been an expensive walk!! £!!!!!
The family have enjoyed the walk via lockdown though so all good!...

I spoke to a guy I know at another course - they haven't played since October due to rain and then 2 days before the course was due to open Lockdown happened - absolutely gutting!

We've been very fortunate and have played all winter without restrictions, temporary tees or greens (not even winter rules!) so were able to play until Lockdown. It still seems like a lifetime ago that we played though.

Yeah, I can't see Monday being the day. Maybe next weekend though?

I would argue that it's absolutely not OK for people to be volunteering to do any marashalling! It's hardly essential.

The message at our club is to turn up 10 minutes before your tee time, change shoes in the car park, play golf and go home.

Welsh courses open from next Monday!!!!

When the announcement was made the other day that they were staying closed, out of sheer boredom and frustration I ripped out the kitchen. Now, unless I get the kitchen gets completed by Monday I am going to be eating microwave meals and washing my dishes in the bath for the foreseeable months!

Had a great round on Saturday morning! 20 points and 4 over the card on the front nine (birdie on the 1st and a birdie 2 on the 7th). Not as clever on the back but very pleased with myself after the long lay off! 32 points in total.

Playing again tomorrow at 4pm.

Another great game last night! A solid 32 points with a couple of blobs (lost ball on one which was annoying, 3 putt on another).

Course is in stunning condition.

Amazing place,Ill always remember the first time I played there, Lunch (amazing), followed by Par,Par,Par... then we turned around and climbed up the dune and got to the 4th tee, I have to land my drive there!!! Into a 25mph crosswind... not many Pars followed.. haha!
Oh yes, the lunch is fantastic! The 4th is demanding tee shot. Really tricky stretch follows as well with the par 3 5th and 7th sandwiching the monster 6th!

The 6th, is that the blind one with the traffic light? Im pretty sure 7 is the short par 3 with the huge bunker at the front? Good stretch that.
Yep. 5th is the par 3 across the valley of the dune, then the 6th is the 470 yard par 4 over the dune with traffic light. 7th the well known par 3 with as you say a huge bunker at the front and death left! (I had a gimme 2 at 7 last weekend!).

Hi all, looking for a set of tall clubs for a beginner. Played on and off for years but not to a great standard. Can anyone recommend and set of tall clubs sub £500?
How tall are you?
This! I’m just under 6’2” and have 1/2” long clubs (2 degrees up!).

But would agree with A second hand set of Pings.

Use their colour chart - needs certain measurements - height, arm length, etc.

I've used Ping i25 irons for the last 6 years, and have really enjoyed using them. Only now am I looking at getting a new set.

Although I think I'm going to go for Mizuno MP20 MMC! xmas

Annoyingly was supposed to have a fitting pre-lockdown so I'm just waiting for the swing studio to be opened up again.

This is a very interesting video (a lot of the recent lock down stuff from the YouTube boys has been tosh, but this is an exception IMO).

Very very interesting results!

With holidays cancelled and me on the golf course 3-5 days a week I'm considering getting some new clubs. Reason being that the two guys I play with have got theirs and have properly upped their game....doesn't help that I got my clubs from my brother (was sponsored so got a new set each year) so they aren't fitted to me....

I currently play with:

Titliest 913 D3 - Stiff/9.5* - average c270yds but get zero run, even backspin in winter! - nightmare into wind as it just takes-off upwards!
Titliest 913 3 wood - Stiff/13.5* - hate it
Cleveland Halo 19* hybrid - Reg steel shaft, ancient - want to swap it out to a utility iron
Titliest AP2's - 4-PW - S300's - again, i launch them far too high
Vokeys - 52/08, 56/14. 60/04
Putter - bought a new oydessy spider triple track one pre-lockdown

First on the list is getting the longer clubs sorted - driver/4 wood/utility before maybe looking at getting new wedges as they're properly worn-out - may even look at adjusting the gaps as I am wedge-heavy.

Only thing putting me off is having previously been a club fitter/golf shop worker from 17-21 (at uni) seeing the costs of current clubs is eye watering!
I think there are deals to be had!

I've basically negotiated a complete Mizuno bag (not including putter) for £1900 fitted.

That's driver, 3 wood, 5 wood (or utility iron), MP20 irons (4-PW) and 3 x T20 wedges. I think that's a great deal!

Surely that would make the results from the Maverick even worse?
