They’re motivated mainly in life by a dislike of the English. Pathetic, creepy and sad. I still like them though, the cheeky scamps.

Funding them is starting to wear a little thin though.
It seems that way, sad but quite funny. Was with a load of Irish fans last weekend, a marked difference. Still, that’s what happens when you rely on London to keep your proud nation afloat biggrin

Today’s game has got me thinking about the Lions in two years....pretty much my last “must do” sporting event is to see a Lions test and South Africa is a hell of a lot easier to do than NZ or Oz.
1st Test in Durban in 2009 is my most memorable sporting event ever - the big bar area outside the ground before the game was something to behold, and the atmosphere in the ground (from both teams) was awe-inspiring.

Will definitely be organising a trip to see some matches with friends in 2021.

I like the English, though wish they could somehow manage to be quietly confident...well those who aren't the personification of 'Tim Nice-But-Dim'.

Watering them and feeding them power is starting to grate though. Perhaps someone should start a campaign for English independence. I'd certainly support it.

That's not even funny, and doesn't scan at all.

For a start, none of Scotland, Ireland, or wales came back from Japan with a cup either. Secondly, if the Englishman walked into Starbucks, they'd soon sort him out with a cup, and even write his name on it. So I'm baffled as to why this is remotely amusing. And I'm Welsh, so if I played to stereotype, I'd be in clover laughing at any joke that even attempts to have a dig at England and England Rugby fans...

It’s amusing as throughout the thread it appears the most vocal have been certain Welsh supporters? I personally enjoyed the tournament and all the games. The fact the Welsh got hammered into 4th was just gravy biggrin

As for independence, yeah, right. Very bitter aren’t you old chap?

Define how Wales were hammered in any game in the WC and compare with today.

Have you been drinking since 9AM?

yes

I bought a giant "bucket" of an Americano in Starbucks (I think) in Waterloo station once, in the desperate hope that I'd stay awake to reach my stop on the last train of the night. I stayed awake alright, but it was less to do with the caffeine and more the raging gut-rot brought on by the coffee. Never again!

That’s not funny. It’s a fking pathetic attempt at a joke.

Sinckler was brilliant throughout the tournament and gave everything. It’s horrible how his tournament ended and I find that “joke” extremely distasteful.
Agreed. Not withstanding an attempt to make fun of a disabled child and some kind of dig at HIA protocols presumably. All in all an epic fail. Well done. Happy now?
I do hope neither of you two precious darlings venture out into the real world, you’ll probably spontaneously combust.

No doubt they were bitterly disappointed but were men enough to show respect for their award.
The RWC players are highly paid professionals, not 14yr old spoilt brats.

Only caught a quick glance , was it the whole team including the captain ? Pathetic reaction .

Thank you mods for removing the previous offensive post.

There’s no place for disgusting content like that on PH.

You forget our 3 point hammering by SA. Oh no wait a minute... I’ve no idea where he got that from.

I take no joy from England losing, had they been playing any other non home nation side I'd have been cheering them on, but boks have always been my 'second' team after Scotland. I have always liked their old school do the basics and be stronger than everyone else approach. Not every Celt is anti English.

Love the way a desire for an alternative is bitterness. What's there to be bitter about? We both want the same thing don't we?

As for the rugby - my feelings are quite clear when I've interacted with decent fans online and in person.

Such a disappointing end to a great campaign

Not long from the start it was clear that something wasn't right and it wasn't going to be the same as last week

The best team definitely won. Very bitter pill to swallow getting so close with a 4 year wait to make amends - and no guarantee that we will do as well next time anyway

You're in a good place. Huge player base. Need to develop a bit more depth at 3, 9 and 15 but deep squad otherwise.

We're not in as bad a position as Scotland wherein one key injury leaves you fked, but we c/should be better. We (currently) seem to have an embarrassment of riches at wing and 2nd row together with some decent options at 6/7/2 but if, for example BV and Wilson can't play who is world class there? If MT is out who is our world beating centre?

NZ has (had?) the right idea with a steady drip feed so suddenly you've got a lot of options - though to be fair this time that didn't quite happen
