I quite enjoyed seeing a scratch team in England colours. That tall red headed bloke looked pretty handy, I expect great things from him in future...

Seriously though, a great opportunity for players who can't get near the squad normally to showcase their wares, Mahmood had a dream game didn't he?

This is a characteristic of Englands 2nds that they have inherited from the 1sts. All the limited overs matches against SL & Pak have shown this to some extent IMHO.

Good to see them bat as well, looks like selectors have a few solid options if they have any weakness in the usual team or want to rotate players.

Nice to win that, we often struggle to get a result at Lords. It'd be ironic if we stuck the regulars back out for the final game with the series decided and they lost though.

I think Mahmood has definite Test potential, another strong game for him. I like Parkinson as well, with his village cricket style bowling delivery. Gregory had a good game especially with the bat and Simpson was good behind the wicket.

Bear in mind this isn't a bad Pakistan team, they aren't far removed from the team that beat England, New Zealand and South Africa in 2019 during the World Cup.
