Poor girl now having to endure pointless news programme interviews with their childish questions ffs.
Endure? They are optional and a personal choice to attend. That stuff really doesn’t look good, so yes, in most cases with will do all interviews.

Endure? They are optional and a personal choice to attend. So whilst yes, nobody is marching her in manacles to all these interviews, to say that they are "optional" and a "personal choice" is understating the case a little. As Naomi Osaka has very publicly demonstrated, media exposure is an expected part of the job and can be very hard to deal with.

Fair enough, but don’t kid yourself that she’s any better than any of the current top 10.
I think those expecting multiple GS wins in the next year or so might be somewhat disappointed.
We shall see.
There have been a number of young players that have won a GS but not backed it up with multiple wins or who have suffered injury problems so you could be right. However to me the most important thing a tennis player needs is mental strength. Nadal and Djokovic are the best examples. Even when they play badly or worse than their opponents they find a way to win and can withstand huge mental pressure. What impressed me most about Emma is that she seems to have the same mental strength. Against Fernandez and Sakkari she saved numerous break points, even coming back from 0-40 on several occasions. If she can stay that strong mentally then the sky is the limit.I think those expecting multiple GS wins in the next year or so might be somewhat disappointed.
We shall see.
Some of the questions these presenters are asking her must feel like a broken record but I guess you just have to think about the £1.8m prize money and give a polite answer.

After her Wimbledon episode after being thrown in at the deep end or the sport and the media I'd say it's pretty clear she's been helped by a sports psychologist and had some media training which is perfectly normal. If that was the only obstacle in her way to achieving a grand slam win then that's great.

Not seen any of the interviews yet, but Emma's a savvy girl and will take it all in her stride... She'll probably see some of the questions as ridiculous, but won't show it in the answers she gives too them..Some of the questions these presenters are asking her must feel like a broken record but I guess you just have to think about the £1.8m prize money and give a polite answer.

She will have been with a sports psychologist for years? Some of the questions these presenters are asking her must feel like a broken record but I guess you just have to think about the £1.8m prize money and give a polite answer.
I read that she had her A-levels this year and did very well. So I imagine a combination of exams, the profile of wimbledon and anything got too much.
With exams over and having learnt from Wimbledon, she is stronger.
Agree about the mental strength she displayed throughout both slams. Unlike Andy Murray, if she played a poor game or got too passive, she didn't beat herself up and get negative, she'd shrug it off and go more aggressive in the next game, taking back the initiative.
Biggest risk to a stellar career is probably injury and it sounds like she's managing her tournaments and resting properly between times at the moment.

She is quite right to make hay while the sun shines. Today is good, tomorrow she may be on a losing streak, get injured or another British female may emerge and outshine her. Cash in!

It looks like Emma is focussing on playing at Indian Wells in California next month, initially entering qualifying but may get offered a wild card for the main draw now she's number 23 in the world rankings.
I would be gobsmacked if they don't give her a wild card, the organisers will surely want the publicity and cache of her playing in the main draw after what she did at the US Open?North West Tom said:
The first of many and I wouldn't begrudge her any of it. Bearing in mind that she speaks Mandarin, if she cracks the Asian market, she'll pretty much then have global appeal.
She's a marketing dream.
Some of the things going on now are getting slightly over the top. Some of the cringeworthy interviews were bad enough, including someone from one of the UK news networks that asked her whether she'd "tapped her banking app" to "see if the winnings dropped yet", but now a number of outlets are suggesting that Emma has already been nominated & confirmed for a -BE of some form in the Royal New Years Honours list for winning.
Plus the BBC have commissioned "Emma Raducanu - The Homecoming Party" for a slot on Friday with coverage of her returning to the National Tennis Centre for the first time since winning (will also feature Alfie Hewitt & Joe Salisbury slightly too), which is being broadcast via Red Button, iplayer, online streaming from 12:30 to 3pm, with an edited 30 minute highlights show of the same event on BBC2 between 3:15 & 3:45pm.
I really hope she keeps a decent team around her over the next few years that support her through both the ups & downs, injury, etc, as some of what's happening now has all the Hallmarks of where Naomi Osaka was after she beat Serena at the same event a couple of years ago. Knowing how a lot of the press are with regards to sporting success / failure in this country, i have an awful feeling they'll be right on her back, just like most of the other players when they aren't doing as well, etc.
