I agree, Rafa was as well beaten as he's ever been in a Grand Slam final but, while he didn't play well, you have to say in large part that was because he wasn't allowed to by Novak. Given where his form was 12 months ago it's been a remarkable comeback by Djokovic and, if he can stay fit and maintain his current level for a couple of years, I can actually see him beating Federer's record of 20 GS titles.... I think unless something drastic happens we will never see Nadal move as well as he did 3-4 years ago. He's got a lot of miles on the clock, he's been winning grand slams for 13 years and probably about the same number of times away from the tour with injuries.
If I was a betting man I would bet Djokovic getting over 20 slams however there's something lacking in Djokovic. It maybe the fact that he just doesn't produce a lot of errors and it's just all too calculated and lacking flair.
It's a bit like how Schumacher has won so many drivers championships however if I was to go back in time and watch the greatest driver he wouldn't be in my top 5.

It's a perfectly legitimate play - providing the opponent's in position and ready to receive serve there's nothing wrong with it IMO. Not something a pro would use very often - because at that level a conventional serve is much more effective - but as change-up tactic to surprise an opponent it's fair enough in my view. As I see it it's not really much different from Federer's SABR - it's not disrespecting the opponent, it's just doing something different to keep them guessing....
Another title for Roger Federer in Miami yesterday and at 101 he's gradually closing-in on that record of 109 held by Jimmy Connors; to be honest I never thought anyone would get close to that never mind beat it but Federer must have a chance if he can keep going this year and next. Ultimately if he wants the record I think he'll be able to get it by playing more lower ranking events; however, he's been more inclined to focus on Grand Slams and the ATP Masters 1000 events and winning another 8 or 9 of those won't be easy.....

Yes he does tend to concentrate on the larger events, but he does enter some smaller events, whether as warmups for another tournament (like at Halle) or where he has an interest (like Basel on home turf). He has won Halle nine times and Basel nine times, so you would think he would be taking more of these if fit. After Federer went out of the AO at the 4th round I thought he would never make 109. If he keeps playing like he is at the moment though he has a very good chance.
I think we are going to have to see Federer, Nadal and Djokovitch literally fall apart before some of the younger talent starts to dominate the major tournaments and to think Borg retired when he was 26, the above were just getting into their stride then.
Hope Murray comes back and wins again.

Nick Kyrgios giving the press lots to talk about again.
