I fear Denis Shapovalov will be too much.

TBF, it's amazing Murray is there at all.

The last few sets were brilliant, edge of your seat stuff.

Really hoping Murray can carry on where he left of tonight for Fridays match, if he does I think he's got a really good chance.

I thought top tennis players employed mind coaches and all that so they could remain zen like under pressure.
Murray is coming across as somebody who's completely losing the plot.

Last night was the worst I’ve ever seen him. I’m guessing it’s frustration in not being able to do what he used to. He needs to control it, because last night that is the thing that almost lost him the match.

Yes, although he's always been prone to venting and having a bit of a rant at his box he was particularly poor in that regard at times last night. However, he nevertheless he came through it and, most encouragingly, when he did have his head together he seemed to be playing and moving pretty well. I'd have thought getting his temperament under control is a better problem to resolve than not being able to move properly because of his hip so on balance I'd say things are looking positive so far for Murray....

I was saying all the way through the match that his three chief problems were;

1. Too many drop shots,
2. A wayward running cross-court forehand, and
3. Shot selection at or approaching the net.

I guess the drop shot is an easy get-out if you can't control the baseline game, the forehand just needs practice, practice, practice but one of the first things Murray mentioned in his post match interview was his poor shot selection - it's one of things that is obviously in his head and only renewed and continued court time can fix.

He has lost some guile.

And probably some self-belief, but his determination seems to be holding up well. Shapovalov will provide a much sterner test which could see him out.

I watched thinking he was doing OK for someone with a metal hip during the first couple of sets, but didn't see him progressing very far this year. Coming through that five setter has changed my view somewhat; who knows what'll happen on Friday..

In practical terms, what are the issues for him with his metal hip?

It's no coincidence that Andy's Slam wins have been under the guidance of Lendl who put a stop to his constant berating of the team sat courtside. He's just wasting energy again. Energy he desperately needs to conserve.

He will never wear magnetic underpants.
Plus he said his hips felt fine at the end of last night's match.

I didn't think I'd ever see him play competitively again, so it's great to see him showing some
of the old wimbers grit again, and it wouldn't be Andy without all the grimacing, Murray muttering
and falling over. Realistically he's probably reached the limit, nothing we've seen instils
much confidence that he can beat a top seed, his next match will see him going out.

Dam Federer is on form, should be a good match, Gasquet can be a awkward person to play against.

Hope to see Murray out soon. A childish and petulant man, I cannot understand the love in for him. Could never lace Federer’s shoes, who behaves with total class and makes the game look beautiful.

What a strange question.
