Heartless fker - I hope your limbs fall off and maggots infest the holes they leave.

Back to tennis players without injuries, ER lost her serve in the first game of the first set, lost the next game - then won six games in a row..

... and yes, what a shot to take the set.

Astonishing composure to pause and wait for the crowd when needed.

6-2, 6-1 against a woman who beat the world number 1 a few days ago. Lose 2 games, win 11 in a row, lose one and then 4 match points to win against the world number 43.

Blimey.

What will that do for her ranking? Goodbye qualifying?

It already was 'goodbye' qualifying

She definitely didn't play that well for the first 2 1/2 games, then..... wow!

Bencic will be a tough player though, a step up

I really don't know how exactly the rankings work; I think she earned 40 points for qualifying, and now another 430 for getting to the QF - add that to her 531 for her 150 ranking and you get to 1001 points which roughly (as other people are earning points too) around the 80 mark.

[wild speculation time] If she gets through the QF to the SF she gets to around 50 in the world and overtakes Heather Watson as Britains Number 2, if she gets to the Final she to around 30 in the world and become Britains Number 1, and if she wins she will be around 25 in the world...

...I think headache

[/wild speculation time]

I honestly thought she might struggle this evening - another in-form Lady, fresh from conquering the world number 1 and again over 100 rankings above her.

World Number 12 next, and fresh from winning Olympic Gold.

To be fair Shelby had a 3 setter in the previous round and a long doubles match the day before... Not taking anything away from Raducanu though - played excellently and readjusted her game plan or even just stuck to it and won convincingly again.

Well at least I got the points right at 1001 - that site saves me rubbing brain cells together though - thanks.

Big test for Raducanu against a very confident Bencic.. Still just one break of serve down and hopefully will be a good match..
