Haha, you are probably correct.
But I know the Giants, win the Super Bowl once every decade.
Super Bowl wins 1987, 1991, 2008, and 2012.
So, deep down, I know this decade, the Giants vs Mahomes, could well happen.
You need a QB to have a chance, which means getting shot of Daniel Jones and taking whatever cap hit that brings. It looks like you have at least a couple of seasons of rebuilding after getting rid of Jones before you start competing again.
.
Giants can cut Jones after 2024 season for just $22M so getting a QB this draft to learn with the pressure off makes a lot of sense.

If the 49ers go all the way with Purdy it gives me hope that we can snatch one with Tua.

It's been a while. eek
If you maintain your roster then all Miami need is an offensive line that gives Tua time for the plays to develop. If you have this. you have the offensive weapons go all the way. Another speedster from the draft that would also help but the offensive line looks the priority to me.
I don't disagree that some tweaks are needed on the OL. As you say, Tua's time in the pocket is less than every team with a better record than us, but even so we scored the 2nd most of any team in the regular season.

The defensive line needs some serious work I feel. A new defensive coach is certainly inbound.

Almost no teams that conceded as much as us have a winning record. In fact the Titans, Pats and Chargers all conceded less than we did as well as every team with a 7-10 record. The dreadful Panthers only won 2 games all season and only conceded a handful more points.

They need to draft a QB this year. If they have Jones on the roster they could ease the newbie in and get him ready to take over the season after.

Given how bad the OL is, unless they get sorted they might get a rookie killed biggrin

Don't agree with that at all. The Dolphins give up points for a pass time against the better teams - if they're ever to progress they need a defence. As with (proper) football, you score four we'll score five is never going to bring long term success.

6th Pick. Looks like 3 QB's will go before then to Bears, Commanders and Patriots which probably leaves them with JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix.

....Has anyone got any feedback on Gamepass/DAZN from this season? As previously mentioned on this thread, I'd switched to a NowTV subscription instead, but have now given my month's notice on that.
As my NowTV sub has expired I had a look at DAZN again, they have an offer for 99p for GamePass until 1st August.

That'll cover me for most of the off-season nicely.

In other news, the 'strength of schedule' rankings (based on 2023 results) for next season have been calculated, and my Browns are at the top of the league, (ie. toughest schedule) so next year might not be our year either....

1 Cleveland Browns
2 Baltimore Ravens
3 Pittsburgh Steelers
4 Green Bay Packers
4 Houston Texans
6 Buffalo Bills
6 New York Giants
8 New England Patriots
8 Jacksonville Jaguars
8 Las Vegas Raiders
11 Detroit Lions
12 Los Angeles Rams
12 San Francisco 49ers
12 Dallas Cowboys
12 New York Jets
16 Kansas City Chiefs
16 Washington Commanders
16 Cincinnati Bengals
16 Minnesota Vikings
20 Denver Broncos
21 Tennessee Titans
21 Indianapolis Colts
21 Philadelphia Eagles
24 Miami Dolphins
24 Seattle Seahawks
24 Arizona Cardinals
27 Los Angeles Chargers
27 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
29 Carolina Panthers
29 Chicago Bears
31 Atlanta Falcons
31 New Orleans Saints

How is that calculated. Surely it is based on previous seasons? I mean I'm happy to see the Dolphins so low but it seems a bit all over the place.

We're really going to have to make this count in the next few seasons. Need that drought to come to an end.

Haha,
Just seen a preview/taster, of the Uber-eats advert, for the Super Bowl.
Very funny, it’s David and Victoria Beckham,
Recreating their,
Be honest Victoria, Ok yes, my dad use to take me to school in his Rolls Royce.
From the David Beckham documentary.

Well I thought it was funny.

She really was the posh spice.

Wonder if there will be a Taylor swift tracker amd dedicated cam crew as she leaves Japan and arrives in Vegas.

Bit like when the the press stood around the usaf base waiting for the b1 or b52s to leave and bomb Iraq, or the ppe plane from turkey during the pandemic.

You can almost feel the press excitement and precum already whilst most nfl fans don't give a st.

Wonder if the power couple will come out a political statement at the end getting those conspiracy theorists all giddy.

Anyway, I think the chiefs experience will pay off here. Though the chiefs had issues with the bills running up the middle and its something the 49ers do well with cmc

It’s Sunday.
It’s Super Bowl Sunday.

Yesterday Saturday, we had a pre Super Bowl party.
Playing Usher and Taylor Swift biggest hits.
Then watched, The Chiefs road to the Super Bowl.

Go Chiefs.

Happy Chinese new year.

I can't bloody watch it as I have an early work start tomorrow. I should have planned better as my 49ers are there.

So, I think it's going to a great, tough game for both sides, but obviously 'GO NINERS'

Someone my lad works with is going to be there. Had hotel and flights booked ages ago so just needed a ticket which he intended getting when he arrived in Vegas. He was very pleased to Whatsup my lad and tell him he’d secured one for £5,500.

Bargain, apparently!

Gave up staying up for it several years ago. Hope for a good game, would love to see the 49ers end the wait. Expect to wake up to disappointment though. biggrin

£5.500 is a very good price.
Lowest price at the moment (in the USA). online is $6500.

cheapest price, is watching it at home on your tv.

I'm in Birmingham.
So I'll be watching the game at the old Mooch sports bar on Broad street.
(haha, I can't say the new name, cos I'll get embarrassed)
