Agreed something missing in ER game and Garcia is playing well.
She doesn't have the support team that she needs if she has ambitions. And I don't mean just a coach. She has too much pressure from those sponsorship deals that were perhaps signed a little early, but I think the blame should be on IMG. But then again she might have done well signing them early in a way, I just hope not and that she has a proper future in the sport.

I don't think the sponsorship has anything to do with it - she just seems to be training and practising in a different way that perhaps has let go of the basics that got her to the final of the US Open. I think any slo-mo sports analysis of her body response times from last year to this year would show a marked deterioration and based on her performance today there seems an attitude now that she perhaps doesn't have to prepare and anticipate for every ball to be rapidly returned or to chase down every ball - add that to the critical amount of times she blasted the ball too low into her own side of the net, even in the centre of the court, and you have the performance you got today. CG played well today but I wouldn't say brilliantly - she just found a slow, flat, error making opponent and quite rightly took full advantage of the circumstances.

Murray is objectively a much better player, but Isner has unlocked some sort of cheat code for tennis which makes him an absolute monster.
How can Andy hope to overcome this when he can't get out the killing zone to begin with.
Head to head Murray is 8-0 up so there is a way to defeat the serve machine - but it does take patience. How can Andy hope to overcome this when he can't get out the killing zone to begin with.
Isner has been up to number 8 in the world but has only ever got to a single GS semi final.

Shame Murray lost but I just gained a lot of respect for Isner. Some of the most gracious and humble post match words I've ever heard anyone say. Nice chap.
Agree, and he came across very well for sure. I'd hate to play against someone who serves like he does though, and it must be seriously demoralising I reckon. Scabutz said:
Isner is 6'10". I'm 6'5", there is a pretty good chance in any room I'm the tallest by a long shot. But he's almost half a foot taller. fking mad.
Also what did he do to ps off the basketball coach that he ended up playing tennis
So when he serves and stretches up at full arms length plus the racquet, the ball is probably coming down at youAlso what did he do to ps off the basketball coach that he ended up playing tennis
from about 11-12 feet in the air

Isner is defying the aging process, just getting better the older he is. 37 now and playing like he is in his mid twenties.
I know it is a cliché but he does move well for a big fella.
The third set showed how the top guys inc Murray normally handle Isner. Hold your own serve then out manoeuvre him in the tie break.
Murray just not consistent enough during the other sets. I think if he had met him a round or two later he would have done it.
Isner will be a challenge to anyone this year playing like that.
Good luck to him, would love to see him take a top scalp.
