They have beaten the West Indies in their last five ODI.

They have a tough road if they want to make the last four, but they do look a decent bunch and I love the style.

SA and WI are off cycle for this World Cup. They are basically out. Looks like England, India, Australia and NZ for the final four. But I don’t think NZ have played any of the top three yet.

So far no real shocks, but some lovely cricket.

Saffers made 249 on a sticky wicket.

I don't think it's enough, but NZ will have to bat reasonably
Five down and they are looking a bit shaky.

All of Bangladesh are South African fans now

5 wickets in hand 32 needed off 33 balls, I guess they have played through it.

Yes so far this WC is lacking in shocks

Well is should be a regulation win from here, but I guess you never know.

Bairstow back in the shed already.

A bit of smash from the beard and this is all over.

Slinga is a menace though, would hate to face him.

Stokes continues to impress me, showing at last a bit of patience

I think England got frustrated with their over rate slowdown yesterday and started taking risks to push things forward, better to weather an early onslaught then push hard in the last ten overs.

We have got to learn how to cope when we lose the toss or when the pitch isn't favouring us. Australia at Lords could be a struggle, the place is a sort of reverse fortress for us, as everyone brings their A game to the home of cricket.

I agree, Though whilst Root was in the result was not in doubt. He controls the pace beautifully (although we will never make 500 if Root bats more than six balls).

England seem to lose their heads without Root. Stokes showed how to bat it’s a shame our on paper strong tail could not take the hints. Moeen was daft, Woakes got done by a good ball. Rashid, Wood and Archer could have done better.

Anyway Go Afghanistan !

Wr beat India last summer 2-1 in ODI they are not a better side than we are, they do however have two very talented batsmen.

England will be fine to get into the top four

Great game from Afghanistan, Nabi batted so well and a pity they couldn’t get over the line, experience told and India have bucketloads.

Got to feel for Carlos there, what an innings, and what a way to go out.

Crushing.

I really wanted WI to win there.

I was praying he would just nudge a single and then go again, but I knew he was pumped for the big wahoo.

You are far too forgiving sir, if the shoe was on the other foot it'd be like something like we've never seen.

I fully expect Smith & Warner to get a humongous amounts of stick tomorrow & deservedly so.
Good bit from Bairstow today highlighting his memories of not even two years ago when Lehman was asking the Aussie crowds to make Stuart Broad cry and go home. Fast forward and now Langer is basically pleading for mercy.

Typically Aussie more whine than a French vineyard.

Right this is the big one, should be a classic match, plenty on it for both teams.

I hope we crush them.

Go England

Bloody hell, that's a dramatic improvement. I just hope England can get a decent run chase going in response. Sorry if I sound incredibly pessimistic but that pretty dreadful start has rattled my confidence.
Ha ha, Anyone who has spent any time watching England cricket has seen us this it all away from any number of promising positions. So it’s no surprise we are massive pessimists.

We beat the Aussies 5-0 last time they were here. Ok they have a couple of guys back, but we should be mopping up these smaller teams ready for the big shows against India and New Zealand

Well my opinion on Moeen has not changed much based on that piece of asshat batting.

Finch batted brilliantly this morning and Starc is class.

England have a feeble issues here.

Morgan backed us to chase, but this is the third time we have screwed it up.

Vince cannot be allowed to continue it has to be over.

Plunkett is a better option than two spinners.

We have fluffed our lines so far.

FFS Archer just chipped it to mid-on. Again. He telegraphed the shot he wanted to play the previous ball and missed it, then was kind enough to jump with both feet into the blindingly obvious trap set for him. It's as if there's no thought process whatsoever.
I don’t think you could reasonably expect Archer to chase that down.

Aussies outplayed us today, I hope Morgan learns from this and backs us to bat first in future

I think England are far more talented than this, and I fully believe we will show it before the competition is over.

I still believe, Bairstow, Root and Buttler are absolutely first rate players and we didn’t become number without proving it home and abroad.

We need to adjust and show a bit of mongrel but I still believe.
