Irritating, Velogames Fanasy Cycling shutdown for TdF after a legal challenge. I'm usually way down the leagues but was a little bit of fun during the big races. Sure its nothing to do with ASO and their commercial buddies pushing their own fantasy games this year
Was just trying to decide which sprinter to go for too, Gaviria or has Cav still got it in him, ooh then theres Kittel and Matthews and Sagan

There is an official one here: https://fantasy.letour.fr/Was just trying to decide which sprinter to go for too, Gaviria or has Cav still got it in him, ooh then theres Kittel and Matthews and Sagan
Doesn't Cav already hold the record for road stages (Non TT). I wonder how well his form is going into this for him to get another 5 stages 1 or 2 would be incredible.
I just sincerely hope we don't end up with a TDF dominated by the behaviour of supporters it has for generations been the best free sporting event in the world and the best behaved fans ,it will be so sad to see that end.

I've created league "PHPedalPowered" on https://fantasy.letour.fr/
access code: U9HAD
Cheers, have joined in. Some strange options available, Cav can only be selected as a leader not a sprinter AND Dumoulin as a climber not a leader access code: U9HAD

Which, by some amazing coincidence, is launching next week!
The whole release is PR for their nutrition sponsors new product!
As above, they go to the nth degree on carbs but cant remember what was in a jiffy bag for old Wiggo?
It's like they have people with no concept of the outside world perceptions working at Sky
There is a bit of me thinking Sky are having a laugh with all of this:The whole release is PR for their nutrition sponsors new product!

- Personal mattresses
- Camper Vans
- Purple bottles full of Ketones
- Magic chain lube
- Rocket Fuel
Stage 2 TdF;
Sagan... the machine!
I’d love to have even a 10th of this guys ability on a road bike.
Had to be his really with who was left after the crash, but still had to work to the line.
Could be some big gaps on the team time trial. Sky and BMC likely to be strong.
Just as an aside... anyone else find Richie Porte unlikable? Can’t say exactly what it is, but last few years I just can’t like the guy.

Chris Froome has proven that he did not cheat under the Law. 100%. He and Team Sky did not break any Rules.
Obviously, his most ardent Detractors will not give up and be seething at this result; indeed, it will incense them still further that he has proven them wrong about him. They had already Judged him in accordance with their bias and prejudice. The fact he has nothing further to answer and has legitimately won his Titles and Accolades is immaterial to the Haters.
So I hope he goes on the win TdF No.5
My understanding is that they didn’t prove that he didn’t cheat but rather they produced studies which undermined the efficacy of the test. But what they did appear to demonstrate is that on the day he was an amazing contradiction of ultra asthmatic and extremely dehydrated, which makes his ability to nevertheless smash the opposition even more remarkable.
They explained this with a clarity greater than anyone else has ( or of that matter themselves earlier) in their recent coverage.
Salbutamol is only performance enhancing if you take it in large doses, in which case it becomes anabolic (no necessarily what you want for endurance events).
Therefore you can use it without a TUE, the process is that riders are not meant to take more than a certain dose orally. This is the "legal limit", however as they can't follow the riders around they test for Salbutamol levels in urine.
If you show more than 1,000 nanograms per millilitre of urine you must explain it, this is not however a "legal limit" or similar just the level at which the investigation takes place.
Froome's team demonstrated that adjusting for concentration he was only at 1200 nanograms per millilitre on the day of the AAF. They then went on the show that given the statistical variation of the levels in his urine and the frequency with which he is tested that it would be a statistical inevitability that he would have an AAF at acceptable doses of Salbutamol.
Secondary they will have made the argument that the levels of salbutamol shown across his multiple tests demonstrate that he was using it within therapeutic guidelines not in an attempt to gain said anabolic effect which would require a massive sustained dose.
Finally to get a useful effect from an anabolic steroid, you'd take it during training to maximise the gains from the training not in competition on the hardest stage.
Froome didn't get off on a technicality he clearly did not cheat, if he had been sanctioned it would have been on a technicality. The whole process around AAF's and substances like salbutamol are specifically to allow judgement and due process to stop this happening.
As to special treatment or otherwise; getting an AAF is part of the investigatory process in equivalent criminal law it is pre charge e.g. police questioning. AAF's are confidential but it is believed that they are not uncommon with 5-10 per year the majority of which are successfully explained by the cyclist.
I think the main learning element from these is that much better confidentially measures need to be undertaken to allow this process to take place outside of the court of public opinion. It would also be sensible for the UCI/WADA to publish stats as to how many AAF it processes.
