I watched the highlights programme on ITV tonight. Very disappointed, it just didn't work. What was wrong with the old version with Flatman and Mark Durden-Smith chatting at various points around the ground, then interviewing the MOTM?

It just worked.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I quite liked it - obviously it s a budget show, recorded in an editing room, but at least the rugby is being shown. Flats is funny and Topsy is a great presenter too. Shame we just can't have more actual rugby on screen, as the highlights always seem so short.

Flats and his 'Bants'...cringeworthy.

'Hya mate, you aright mate, what you lifting mate, looking buff mate, on-point mate...great bants mate...'

Size xxsmall jacket and 28inch chinos and 4 hours to wedge himself into them….standard clobber for Hask and Co…

Desperate to be bigger, desperate for attention.

There was a time, a few years back, when Flats was a breath of fresh air. His podcast with Tom Shanklin was one of the first I listened to every week.

It slowly dawned on me that his schtick was pretty repetitive, and a lot of the humour was falling flat on the 5th/6th time around. Shanks particularly has a very shallow repertoire of humour.

Having said all of that, it launched his career as a pundit, and managed to get him a fairly decent gig with Prem Rugby. And I suspect he doesn't really care about my opinion either.

Evening all, bit of a long shot but stuck in Rwanda and can’t find a live stream (BBC VPN not working). Any link much appreciated!

Dean Richards busy mouthing off on BT Sport about decisions that the rest of world can clearly see are correct, like Chick's red card, and claiming favouritism by the ref.

No ref displays favouritism - they may make questionable decisions (not Chick's that is a straight red all day).

Lost a lot of respect for Dean Richards today.

edit: As some Twitter user commented; Richards behaving exactly like a football manager - "it's not my fault we lost, the ref's useless and favours the other team". bks - hammer the other team by 30 points and no-one gives a st what the ref thinks.

Ah, Deano. Excellent coach, substandard human.

Showing his true colours again.

Deano said the officials rushed the Chick red card decision.

I saw it played from every angle, red card all day, it didn't need a longer review.

The next head to head contact that knocked out Kirsten was dealt with too quickly. Tackler upright, no bend at the waist, direct head contact. Immediately knocked out the ball carrier. A simple penalty?

looks like a positive move is on the cards for Georgia, Kenya and Zim - all set to join the Currie Cup.

So, a tenner on France and a tenner on Ireland.

I don't think there is any chance that Wales will beat France.

I think it is quite likely that Ireland will win at Twickenham.

sadly, so do I - mind you if England lose to both France and Ireland could that mean EJ out on his arse?

I doubt it. He should’ve gone after last year’s debacle.

quite possibly - but he bought himself some space in the autumn internationals (Itoje is a possible casualty for the weekend which won't help)

Important question - who is the "Joe" who is co-commentating on the Wales France game on BBC1?
(Good game BTW)

Interesting match. Too much kicking for me, but otherwise OK.

I thought that Wales would edge it as the French seemed to be disintegrating from ten mins into the second half. I'm not sure if they pulled themselves together or Wales couldn't keep it up.

I had to watch it with the sound off. A surreal experience.

Well done France, but only just I felt. Wales had the chances, but didn't take them.

Neither team were great. Any Southern Hemisphere team would have torn either of them a new one.

A very underrated stalwart. Not overly talented but gave heart and soul to the job

Smarter than most folk gave him credit for. He's done a great job with Castres.
