Anyone else heading to Tottenham for Sarries v Bristol. Family are in general seating but I'm taking clients in the posh seats. I visit quite often to the same lounge and wonder how different it will feel with different shaped balls. I understand a lot of tickets have been sold.

I think if you look after yourself, have a sensible diet, take regular check-ups if they are offered, you should be ok.

You can also check yourself. If you look online, it will tell you how to do it.

I would just like to point out, I'm still having spontaneous giggles at this today.

The finest, best and greatest front row forward I ever saw play.

The Boks laughed when 5ft 10 turned up. He scrummaged Os and co to exhaustion.

I was 21 in ‘97 and played my final game as a prop that year. Tom Smith was my complete and utter hero. Inherited the Mighty Mouse mantle and wore it perfectly.

Legend of a player. Rest well Tom, for thou art immortal.

That 1997 Lions front row were all immense. Woodt tended to get the publicity, but rugby players appreciated the quiet effectiveness of Smith and Wallace. 61 caps for Scotland and I can't remember one below par performance.

Awful news about Tom Smith. He was incredible on the Lions 97 tour, never enjoyed rugby more. Changed front row rugby. A huge loss, and thoughts with his family.

So sad he was taken so early. True legend of Scottish and Lions rugby.

What's the feeling re the "20 minute red card" trial? I guess it's better than ending up with 15 vs 14 for 75 minutes like then England game in the 6N, but then a dangerous head shot deserves a sending off if they want to reduce dangerous tackles.

I can see the thinking behind it - but then it does seem to lessen the (needed) severity of a red card...

It's in danger of getting silly; as you suggest, deliberate and dangerous play merits removing from the field of play, permanently (i.e for rest of game). Are we saying that punching or eye-gouging only merits 20 minutes off, same as an uncontrolled, without due care head clash?

Do we now need an orange card for 20 mins time-out?

Yellow card = 10 minutes in the bin, drink 500ml of your own urine.

Red card = 20 minutes in the bin, drink 500ml of somebody else's urine.

That way, the fine traditions of rugby are retained.

Not sure I agree, I think they need a full reset down there. Munster for me just haven’t changed with the times, and in fact the only coach who ever really tried to do that was Penny ten years ago, who they ran out of the place. I’m not sure what Rowntree necessarily brings other than more of the same

Interesting match this weekend for them, and I feel Chiefs could turn them over

Bit of a demolition job by Leinster on Connacht this evening, and Lowe really is turning into a great Southern Hemisphere signing for us

Welford Road next by the looks of it

Pity the challenge cup games weren’t televised.
