The PH Gun Cabinet - Shooting Matters

However, Spain, France and the Eastern Europe countries will ignore the ruling [if successful] for the next ten years, as there are many more hunters over there [along with businesses] that would be affected. UK will bend over and implement as a true wimp, as per other rules ie no smoking in restaurants etc. The UK appears to want to get rid of FAC weapons, which is a shame.
But the ban won't only affect hunters, so once ranges have to start enforcing the ban st gets real. And yes, the UK civil servants are probably champing at the bit to ban yet more stuff and punish the law abiding and not the criminals.MKnight702 said:

Then there will be the knock on effects to other forms such as air rifles. My old club shoots on a clay ground, would it be allowed for one rule for one, one rule for another? As there is no viable non lead alternative for air guns, although there has been some valiant attempts. Ironically one of the best lead pellets I used came out of old dies used for non lead pellets! They were heavy at 18 grains in .22 but they worked well.
Any recommendations for gunsmiths in East London/Essex/Herts which may be able to fix the safety/barrel switch on my O/U?
It came off the last time I was out and I've now lost the little switch itself. Not sure how much of a job it would be, but I do like the old Nikko and wouldn't want to have to get rid if it was too costly a job.
Cheers.

Fifty Cal Shooters Association hinting at some new consultation happening in the next 2 weeks, actual post they put up is;
"Off we go again, the consultation on the security of firearms is due to be announced within the next two weeks."
Could just be to do with the security measures of their firearms, or could be more categories of firearms on the chopping block? Rumour mill is already going on about what is going next.

Mildly interesting, but not at all surprisingly, Colt re-starts civilian sales:

Yep heard a few things over the last few weeks.
Normally I would be outraged but honestly I CBA any more. I will shoot what I can till they stop me and then after that hopefully I will spend enough time in countries with different opinions than the UK to still get my fix.
I know what you mean........my ticket is due for renewal in Jan, and I always wonder, will this be the last time (and not just because of advancing age )Normally I would be outraged but honestly I CBA any more. Shelves are empty imagine how much money they lost in that decision.
Probably not a great deal. My understanding was that they were devoting much of their capacity to military sales, and didn't want to have to compete in a low margin market where they didn't make much. With covid-19 and the rioting, demand went up, prices rose, and they want a piece of that, now it's a viable market for them again.red_slr said:
Roundhouse Ranges closing with immediate effect.
Shame, very popular with some of the AI boys.
Ive shot down there a few times (and I’m actually wearing one of Tiff’s T-shirts right now). I like the set up but found it a little restrictive and repetitive for the longer distances. Shame, very popular with some of the AI boys.
Goes without saying any cuts to the places to shoot hurt us all, but I think Orion will still be my first port of call to stretch the legs of my Creedmoor.

Gun Control Network being hyperbolic and disingenuous, what a surprise.
