the first week our newest RD was in charge we had 720 so even though we'd trained him, he'd shadowed us etc there's no way other than in at the deep end!
That's a fair number, we consider 200 to be a busy day, and our record is 313 which was even more stressful as we only had 225 tokens To be honest I found that more stressful than RD'ing at Frimley with 500+ as they regularly get those numbers so the rest of the team are used to it
I'm always amazed how slick some of the big parkruns are considering the how much more work they need to operate compared to us.

Well done Cybertronian. RD is a great job and if all goes well the easiest one on the day! Good to feel you can step up when the need is there.
(We met at Oban parkrun, btw.)
Thanks mad! It felt like the only right thing to do, given the event nearly folded post-COVID and didn't resume immediately due to lack of core team.(We met at Oban parkrun, btw.)
And of course I've not forgotten you from Ganavan Sands in Oban! That was such a crazy morning and day. The parkrun did the groom and me, the best man, a lot of good to quell any nerves!

I also love the fact that parkrun does that.
Numbers down this week, only 336 instead of 500 as it was persisting down!
One the plus side I was pleased with 27:59 - my watch said 28:00 so the extra second was a bonus! and more importantly hit my target of getting over 60% as part of my very slow return to form. When I was a few yrs younger/pre coved/pre injury/pre various other excuses, it was 70% but I'm happy with 60 for now!

But a ParkRun official page has posted that the RD puts cones out on the side of a road near the park to stop people parking there and are being ignored… the comments are heated and full of locals who aren’t park runners pointing out that they have every right to legally park there and use the park at that time.
Over the past few weeks, managed a few tourist parkrun events:
Strathclyde - rather lovely along the banks of the loch in the country park there.
Severn Bridge - one parkrun, two countries and three counties. Those stats are a first for me.
Whitekirk Hill - a recent addition to the Scottish roster. Mrs DTP is back to being an Albanear, so checking this one off. Filthy conditions with heavy rain and winds. Enjoyable, chewy, course. Despite the inclement conditions good views, will be a cracker in summer.
Next Saturday will be Delaware & Raritan Canal parkrun in New Jersey. Will be my fourth US event.

Anyone else spot the report on the BBC that a 9 yr old had clocked 17 40 in Poole. Not entirely sure what to say about that but it's really good going.

Mark Lewis isn't slow either.......................
Parkrun Personal Worst last week, but my best/proudest in many ways!
My PB in 18.10 a few years ago
Last week 34.20
Me, both daughters, both Grandaughters (6 & 4)
I’ll go solo again soon
Hope to crack 20 mins again, usually just over, aged 61.
Age grading is better than when I was in my prime, but still chasing

That would have been a memorable Parkrun for sure. My PB in 18.10 a few years ago

You’re still knocking out good times if sub 20 is your target , my PB is similar to yours although probably about 15 years ago. I’m 64 and have a target of going sub 21, think I’m on about 21:40 at the moment.
Wouldn’t you mind sharing your average run week ?
I’m a very sporadic runner as I’m a keen cyclist and hill walker but I think if I want to go sub 21 then I’m going to have to cobble a plan together.
