I've got one of them new Samsung galaxy 3 jobbies and it seems to have a mind of it's own !I have no idea how I can post that last night and then my phone decide all by itself to post it again ! It's done a few wacky things so far.I'm beginning to get a feeling it's like that car from the Stephen king book !

love it!!! it may seem like that last post of mine was an expertly placed piece of comedy.....but the phone did it all by itself(i'm not joking,it really did).it's a if the phone has it's own sense of humour.i'm beginning to get the feeling that if i'm not nice to it it may kill me in my sleep.

Heads up: ITV4 at 10pm tonight, there's a new series called Sports Life Stories - this week it's Barry McGuigan. Trailer looked interesting...
Very humbling. Quite the story and a hell of a man.

Haven't watched this yet, but agree; he's one of those rare individuals whose impact transcends their sport...

Heard that on 5live earlier. My link above now seems to have been updated to confirm his death.

Appears that rumours had spread about his death that were then reported by the press. His family then denied this. Then a couple of hours later confirmed it.

with angelo and now manny gone the truly iconic trainers from this sport are all gone.we could maybe make a case for freddie roach but honestly,he hasn't got anywhere near the provenance of a steward, dundee, futch, goldman and so on.68 is too young man.there is so much knowledge he hasn't yet had the time to pass on to the younger trainers coming through.bad day for boxing.

Sad news indeed. The man was a living legend. frown

If any of you get the time, you should read up on his days as an amateur. He was a very gifted fighter who probably would have been a decent fighter in the pros.

Sad news, I've always admired him and have tons of respect for him. Young as well. 94 wins out of 97 fights as an amateur, awesome record.
