well i hope it's true but i've just heard that fury will fight boytsov on dec.1st!!!!
i'm awaiting confirmation but i will be well impressed if fury takes this fight.boytsov is a lot smaller for sure but is unbeaten and looks the real deal so far!
So, that's the end of the Fury HypeBandwagon then. Good. About time the classless clown got shown up for what he is.i'm awaiting confirmation but i will be well impressed if fury takes this fight.boytsov is a lot smaller for sure but is unbeaten and looks the real deal so far!

As a fan of boxing in general but by no means an expert this is the thing I find most annoying about the profession at the moment, a quick google for the Heavyweight rankings suggests that Fury and Boystov (who I've heard of but never seen) are ranked 11 and 10 respectively. So on paper this seems to be an excellant match up and the sort of fight you'd expect to be made for one of these two to get into a world title contention scenario.http://boxing.about.com/cs/rankingschampions/a/bl_...
But then you look at the fighters records Boystov is 31 - 0 , impressive, but he doesn't appear to have ever fought anyone ranked in the current top 50 certainly within the last 3 or 4 years! Which sort of begs the question how do they rank him 10 in the world!
Likewise Fury, only one fight with a top 50 ranked fighter (Chisora) on his record of 19 wins and he's ranked 11th in the world! (Note Chisora ranked 14th and he's won one from his last 5 fights - obviously because they were hard "real" fights)
I just find it hard to detach the hype from the real world importance of these fights sometimes and especially when you're being asked to pay £15 for the priveledge of watching it I'm worried I'm being scammed (burnt by Audley Harrison v Haye debacle).
Anyone else heard the rumours of Pacquiao Fighting the Thai legend Buakaw on the 21st Dec (2 weeks after he fights JMM). Several links on this page here: http://www.fightlockdown.com/forum/showthread.php?...
Some of the guys at my gym are convinced its happening.
Apparently for the Thai Kings birthday. Anyone who has not heard of Buakaw heres his wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buakaw_Banchamek

i think a lot of the hype surrounding boytsov(and it certainly is only hype and potential at the momenet)is the fact he was a very good amateur.not as good as the povetkins/klitschkos of this world but good none the less.he only had a handful of losses out of 120 odd fights and they were to class guys.as a pro his competition has been weak and he has been moved along slowly.he has, however , been out a lot with injuries.his hands in particular seem to be a weakness as is always the way with big hitters.
i for one love it when two up and comers are matched like this.it restores a lot of faith and regardless of who wins/loses if it is a good fight both men stand to gain.

I remeber him from watching K1 on Eurosport, wonder how Manny will react to being kicked in the head! Sounds like more of a exhibition bout for the King's amusement, I doubt Manny needs the cash but he's into political influence and stuff like that so maybe...
don't forget manny was a muay thai fighter before he was ever a boxer!!(but it seems they are talking about an 8 round boxing match)tuscaneer said:

I've seen a few Boytsov fights now, predominantly on Youtube. One thing I noticed was that most of his opponents were of a similar height; so it will be interesting to see how he gets on with an opponent who's closer to 7ft than 6ft. If he can get to grips with that issue, then I'd be backing a Boytsov win by KO.i for one love it when two up and comers are matched like this.it restores a lot of faith and regardless of who wins/loses if it is a good fight both men stand to gain.

that's my only worry for him.it seems he could easily make cruiser so when these leviathans like klitschko/fury/price start at you there could be an 8-9 inch height disparity and as much as 40lb in weight being given away.there's an air of young mike tyson about him in his ferocity.similar size too.

Powerful like Tyson for sure but like Tyson he'll be easy to hit for the better guys.

My Uzbek mate has just told me that the direct translation of Boytsov is...FIGHTER!
So we have Denis Fighter vs Tyson Fury!!! It's gonna be mayhem!!!
all my mates have been gleefully trying to come up with a fighting name for me for my upcoming bout.some quite funny ones but there is definately an unhealthy fixation on homosexuality and sweets/sugar for some reason.we've had "sugar tits" and "honey pole" but my favourite so far has to be "icing fist".....they're dreaming up robe designs and everying!!So we have Denis Fighter vs Tyson Fury!!! It's gonna be mayhem!!!

he may turn out to be a dud and he is definately disadvantaged in the size takes but it is going to be an interesting journey to watch unfold

good video that.sounds daft this buthis punches are thrown very "boxer" like rather than "thai" like.it's unusual to see a thai fighter with a more boxing centric guard as most thai guys are higher and wider in their guard.very fluid puncher which again is unlike a lot of muay thai guys who treat punching as very secondary to kicking.he's got a record that harry greb would have approved of!!

Apparently the wiki record is a bit out, and contains just the highlights the real record is over 500 fights! Although it is quite common for Thai's to have fight records well into the hundreds.
As an aside I've trained in Thailand. Wow what an experience!
