Oldest winner in the Open era and equalling the record for number of slams at a time when 2 other players have shared 42.

The GOAT.

Reckons he's got atleast 1 more for the outright record.
Respect his achievements but have never liked him.

Just a really unlikeable person.

I quite like him even though I don't know him. Certainly more likeable than Margaret Court IMO.

I notice that Halep has now been banned for doping.

I heard that on the radio earlier, WADA test also. I didn’t think the Pro Tour allowed testing ?? Obviously incorrectly.

Why would they not allow testing?

Another clinical performance from Djokovic in his ATP World Tour semi-final against Alcaraz tonight and I'll be surprised if he doesn't complete the job by beating Sinner in the final tomorrow.

Quite remarkable that at 36 Novak's showing no real signs of slowing down and if he can stay healthy for the next couple of seasons I can see him getting up towards 30 career grand slams. I also think he'll surpass the men's record of 109 singles titles currently held by Jimmy Connors - never thought I'd see that one fall but I'll now be very surprised if Djokovic doesn't get to at least 110!

Yes, amazing achievement, respect! What a player, what an athlete, what a linguist.
It was a great match but as one sided as I have seen Alcaraz lose over the past 2 years.

Yeah, quite likely, but someone with more class would have handled it differently. Oh well, he's the best there's ever been so why should he care what I think.

He's pretty much immune to any opinion other than his own, I reckon

Indeed, and probably aware he's WAY past being universally loved, so I suppose why not play the prick in situations like that. God I miss Fed.

I don't think that's right. He does exactly whatever his wife tells him.

On another note, sadly Amazon have handed the rights over to Sky Sports. Amazon had great coverage (even though they did a terrible job of promoting it) - watch any court, watch full replays etc, and now Sky Sports will probably hide everything behind their £30+ per month paywall, limit matches and will prioritise Cam Norrie because he's partly British.

Looks Tennis TV is a much better option - will go with that I think.

Just saw the highlights of Nadal v Thiem in Australia. Fantastic from Nadal if you don't take his medical issues into account, incredible if you do.

Pretty upset about the sudden lack of tennis on Amazon, and the new woeful coverage on Sky Sports (unless I’ve completely missed the match streaming service on there). Going to seriously limit the amount I watch this year, but at least the Aussie open and qually is in Discovery + land.

I mentioned above - check out Tennis TV after the Australian swing is over. Never used it, but seems to be like how Amazon did it - all courts available to stream live, and full replays when they're done. It's £100 for the year. Only downside I can think of - no WTA/Women's matches.

I will need to double check if there's a TV app as sometimes I just leave matches on all day on the TV as background noise.
