Lews castle parkrun Stornoway Isle of Lewis.
One of the prettiest I’ve done. Absolutely fantastic. Some tough climbs and gravel descents.
Managed 2nd, some local lad about 30 years younger than me shot off like a bullet and never saw him from the first bend.
Highly recommended.

I haven't done a parkrun for ages now. I think I'd got up to 14 events, but too many Saturdays with "other plans" have knocked me off my routine. I thought I had formed a habit, but it seems habits are at least as easy to unform.
I've still been running, and have settled on slower pace and running between 10k and 15k as often as the 5k distance.
My weight is down to a weekly average of 72.5 kg, too. I started monitoring it during the second week of January, when it was as high as 79kg. My Garmin Connect app suggests my 'Fitness Age' is 5 years lower than my actual age. I'm pretty happy with the year so far. Results have been better, and swifter, than I expected when I decided to work on my fitness. parkrun played a significant role as a motivator, especially the first few months of this year. Perhaps I'm less committed to parkrun now due to refinding my cycling, running and walking mojo during the rest of the week.

Well parkrun will still be there if you fancy it again. I’m the opposite, in that I don’t run too often other than parkrun (between 0 and 2 runs in the week and rarely more than 5k at a time).
Having never run as far as 5k in my life until my first parkrun aged 47, I completed my 250th on Saturday. It’s been transformative for me - I guess I just enjoy the “club” feel and the regularity of it.

Parkrun has helped me, in it gives me one run a week in which i can really dig deep and push myself. I usually get a PB which is very motivating.
The rest of the week is then free for more relaxing runs without any pressure to run fast.
I've never spoken to anyone, swoop in and out, and only do the barcode thing as was told it does more harm than good to skip it, but I love it

Parkrun for me is one of my 5 runs a week. Usually the shortest and also usually the one where I push the pace the most.
If I "race" it tends to be much longer distances where pace is not the important factor but keeping moving.
Still getting my two interval sessions in each week although not done a Parkrun in 3 weeks or so due to other commitments.
This week it’s been ..
Sun… 40 mile cycle
Mon .. rest
Tue .. 5 x 1k @ ave 4:07 , 90 sec recs, total distance 10k with w/u c/d
Wed.. 50 mile cycle ( few hard efforts)
Thur .. rest ( felt gubbed )
Fri .. 10 x 0.5k @ ave 3:57 , 60 sec recs , 8k total
Not sure whether to do PR tomorrow as I have a 50m club ride on Sunday and my legs are pretty sore after this morning. Could maybe just go and take it easy.

Who got soggy running today then! I have a rack full of HiVis drying out in the kitchen and my shoes are in the airing cupboard!
Numbers down to a more manageable 375 today instead of the now normal 600. Numbers drop more noticeable down the road at Hove Prom, last few weeks 783, 730, 769 - today 298 - wimps

I woke up to heavy rain this morning, by the time we were ready to set off it had stopped and there were patches of blue sky.
I was doing a long run with parkrun in the middle (19k total), so out for quite a while. Turned out to be quite sunny for most of the run.
About an hour after getting home it started raining quite heavily again! It worked out well today...
