Hi, can anyone recommend a good running buggy? This one seems to have reasonable reviews. Not sure whether to go for an off road buggy which I assume would be OK for road use (but not the other way round)?

We’ve got one of these, it was recommended to us by a guy who regularly runs parkrun under 20 minutes with one. The build quality is excellent and it’s a quality item. My wife uses it for running and likes it; I use it just for walks as I love how easy it is to push and how straight it tracks compared to a normal pushchair.

Thanks, I've ordered that one. Our daughter is only 3 months so it'll be another three months before I try a run with her.

No problem - enjoy! It’s quite astonishing how easily and how straight it runs along if you’re used to a normal pushchair.

Richmond Half Marathon today. Part of RunFest which also has a full, 10k and a 5K

https://www.richmondrunfest.co.uk/

Nice little event with some big sponsors. Course is VERY flat. Strava is saying 16M total elevation. Starts with a lap of the lovely Kew Gardens. Well supported by the locals. Most of the course is along the Thames Tow Path

As I've mentioned previously, my training has been curtailed recently by a groin strain (adductor) I haven't run more than 14 miles since July! eek So to get round in just over 2hrs with no real pain is pleasing. And actually a testament to the physio whose been guiding me on rehab (Physio4Life in Putney)

Goody bag was half decent. And there was a free pint (Fullers Ale, Cider and something else) available at the finish if you were so inclined

Recommended if you are in the area next year smile

So I ran the Worcester City Half yesterday, 1:57:56 which I was well pleased with, was quietly hoping to get under the 2 hour mark but this was beyond my expectations, anyway I digress....

Over the last few miles I was passing a chap who was walking and then a few minutes later he'd run back past me, get a few hundred meters in front, and slow to a walk again. Worked for him I guess but I couldn't help but wonder why he didn't just find a pace he could maintain and stick with that? Lost track of him eventually so no idea if he finished in front or behind me.

Anyone do a run-walk-run-walk type of thing over distance event a get a decent time?

I did a very hilly 10miler earlier this year and refused on principle to walk and was infuriated by several people who were outpacing me up the steepest bits by run walking.

Run walking is very personal. Works for some, not others. Seen it used to good effect for a 12 mile, and I certainly use it on long hilly events, where uphill is eating time.

Did 13 miles today. Much harder than I'd like. Good to get out, but a wake up call.

Anyone do the Great East run today in Ipswich? Tough in the hills and heat.

Anyone recommend a pair of cheap, light waterproof trousers? Need them for a kit check, but I'm not planning on using them - won't be out there all day, and I'm happy running with wet legs etc as I've done it before.

They'll only live in my pack so lighter the better!

I ran surrey hills half yesterday - some pretty grim climbs and I found power hiking up those was a good way to save energy to run quick on the flat. And was faster than the slow joggers.

Watch an Elite Spartan race (or similar) and the pros do the same....they all power hike the big climbs and then run the flats

I watched the S4C coverage of the Snowdon Hill Race. The only person who didn't walk was he men's winner. So walking's fine by me!

Just back home from doing the Ragnar White Cliffs event. Wow, what an experience although my legs are reminding me of the event every time I move!

27km last night in the pouring rain and the dark. Pleased I did it, but highlights my lack of endurance. Will not be able to blag this when running round a track for 24 hours, so some more long runs are incoming.

Podcast with Tom (COO of parkrun) and his dad Brian talking about Comrades. Worth a listen.

Exciting times at the grand to grand this week. If "exciting" means (hopefully partially, MRI to come) tearing your plantar fascia. Managed to get to the long stage (day 3), so knocked out 50k on day 1, 44k on day 2, but only got 10k into day 3. Beautiful part of the world, stty terrain, didn't even get to the sand dunes.

It seems there’s been a death at the Cardiff half marathon. That’s bad news indeed

Completed my first Marathon yesterday at Bournemouth. Great event and very well organised

Utterly brutal from 20 miles in. But, I didn't stop or walk and managed a time of 3hr 54min
