Pleased for Asgreen. He rode a good race and kept his head at the end. Signs this week that perhaps MVDP isn’t quite as superhuman as I was beginning to think he was.
His massive effort in the cold at Tirreno has almost certainly left a mark; he hasn't quite looked the same since. That instant acceleration isn't there, and the endurance is on the wane. He's now on a break, before returning to the MTB....
Nacer Bouhanni has pulled out of a race after being sent racist messages, which is clearly unacceptable. He is a dangerous and disrespectful rider, but his race should not be part of the matter. The other sprinters in the peloton are probably breathing a sigh of relief.
Hopefully the racist abuse will stop and the UCI will hand down a severe punishment for his shamelessly dangerous and unsporting conduct in that sprint recently. They should make an example out of Bouhanni to serve as a message that another Fabio Jakobsen will not be tolerated.

Yes coming 2nd in a hilly 250km hilly classic is definitely a sign that his endurance is on the wane. He's now on a break, before returning to the MTB....

He’s done it for years without much penalty, I think the peloton are just grateful he’s not in team who can get him to the front with 500m to go all that often....Hopefully the racist abuse will stop and the UCI will hand down a severe punishment for his shamelessly dangerous and unsporting conduct in that sprint recently. Personally I don’t think Jake Stewart has covered himself in glory with his Twitter comments though

Don't be a comic - he's not the same rider who won Strade Bianchi and stages in Tirreno......he even admitted in the week before he was feeling his best form was behind him. And that's after a Cyclocross season. Mrs has just come in to ask why I was bouncing and shouting...
Awesome finish too, and hardly an easy win against non-sprinters.
Properly made up for him. Yes, he had an arrogant side - but more telling for me was Wiggo's Tour, with Cav doing absolutely everything to help the team even when in green...
Just utter class.

Another thing about 2012 was when Wiggo was leading the train on the Champs Elysees to help set up Cav for the win Awesome finish too, and hardly an easy win against non-sprinters.

Life in the old dog yet.
And again. From what I understand, his 1 year contract is very reliant on win bonuses.
If he starts to get his confidence back, we may see him either dominate the lower tier events, or if he becomes too expensive, get put into the bigger races again.
Who knows? Interesting to see though.

From performing domestique duties helping the team in the middle week to having the yellow jersey as your leadout man...
